Parity Victims........

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Somehow, the Pats and Colts have kept a nucleus of continuity around. Somehow, the Pats and Colts have kept a nucleus of continuity around. Not just players, but coaches, GM, front office, etc...........the whole nine yards. Both these teams, in this era of mix-n-match, have lost a few players along the way. But the BATTERY of both teams remain. Dallas has a little of this going on right now too. The Steelers, player-wise, seem to want to stay together too. Seattle, Philly, and Chicago are hanging in there. The Whiners, Saints, Cincy, San Diego and Panthers are working on it.
And, not coincidently, look who's been consistently good or decent of late!! For more than a year or two!!
Again, some folks enjoy this Politically Correct "everyone has a chance" bull. And I'm sure the fans of teams like Detroit and Cleveland and Arizona are just licking their chops about what "might happen".
I for one don't like it. I'm not interested in the Lions going 2-14 one year, going to the SB the next, and going back to 5-11 after that. I think it's bad for the game and breeds disinterest (at least for me). Look at Tampa bay. They're the poster boy for that. The laughing stock of the NFL for forever, and they win a SB. After that, a bottom feeder again.
How many Tampa Bay fans do you know outside of Tampa? Huh? How many Ravens have you ever met, outside of Baltimore? Huh? Two "NFL Champions". Nothing more than a product of a watered down league neutered by Free Agency and parity measures.

I got five words for you: "Trent Dilpher has a Ring"!!!! (after Tampa released him)

Just so you know... I am in Los Angeles and I See Raven fans here and Bucs. I see all different teams representing. Ravens do a pretty good job... they still win lots of games. They have a great D and awesome lines. We should only hope to be able to compete with the Ravens. But we get blown out because they dominate us in the trenches.

personally I know 2 TB fans and 0 Ravens fans but when i am out and about I see jerseys from all types of teams. And it is not just the jerseys. Jackets, shirts, hats, licence plate holders, car mirrors, hell I even saw a guy with a Arizona Cardinals dog sweater on his pooch.

Re: Parity Victims........

I see quite a few Bucs and Ravens fans here as well. In fact, there's a group of 50 Packers fans that terrorize my local bar, which is surprising, as NC is a long way from Wisconsin.

I know many people don't like the parity that exists now, but I think it's a good business ploy, because it gets more people involved than would've been initially. The perpetual bottom dwellers (Saints, Bucs, Browns, etc) actually get a legitimate chance now and then. That really woudn't have happened in the old days.
