Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; The guy has run better than all of our tailbacks when he's gotten the ball this year. I say let Ghent or another TE lead block (or maybe find Dudley if he's still around) and let Karney be our Deuce. ...

Why not Karney as our Hammer Back???

The guy has run better than all of our tailbacks when he's gotten the ball this year. I say let Ghent or another TE lead block (or maybe find Dudley if he's still around) and let Karney be our Deuce. He catches well and can run up the middle. Let Reggie keep doing his thing and pound it with Karney.

Papa VooDoo has got the ticket! Establishing the run will make D-lineman stay home...and out of Brees' face. Karney can lead for Reggie, he can pass block, he can catch out of the back field, and has been very successful with the few carries he does get. He has shown that he can do it all. Sean Payton should let the Karney-vore do his thing...bring the pain...let him COMPLIMENT Reggie, and Stecker, and Thomas, and Drew, and Colston, and Moore, and ...

The best way to break up a running play is Dline penatration. They move our Oline men like they are nothing. We know it will help but by how much.

We don't have a bring the pain team. WE are a finess team on Offense and a bend don't break D... not a bruiser type D.

Payton should put Karney in the game often. This guy is like a Monster Truck. He can block and run the ball. Reggie needs to start running behind Karney if he wants to be succesful.

From what I've seen Karney runs well up the middle and catches everything thrown to him. He's not Deuce, but Stecker is bigger than Thomas so neither of them is a bull. They can still get yards, but especially with the O-Line not blocking so well Karney will stick his nose in there and get a couple and may even bust through for some good runs. Reggie could be the distraction for Karney to keep the D off of him. I'm sure the Panthers won't think much eitehr if Karney is back there which may work out well for us.

Karney can get more yards with the O-Line blocking poorly than Reggie, Stecker, or Thomas.

Yeah but...

I don't think we'll be scoring 30 plus points a game which we will need to do because of D play.
