Carolina

Carolina was a wounded team that was willing to lose, but we could not get it done. The Defense did an adequate job against a Carolina offense with backup quarterbacks. The offense moved the ball but could not score. Mare probably is to blame more than anyone for that lost. Payton's decision to go with Mare is somewhat reminiscent of Mora's decision to go with Chip Lohmiller. That decision cost us a few games, before a change was made.

Adequate job gets you 0-4. They did not do an adequate job against a wounded team nor did they do an adequate job againts a back up and 3rd string QB who got them 3 points against us.
