Gandy mixes pain, pleasure

Monday July 28, 2003

Peter Finney

Thirty-two-year-old, 6-foot-5-inch Wayne Gandy wears a 308-pound smile, which is not surprising when you realize he has played nine seasons in the NFL, five with the Rams, four with the Steelers, and has missed only one game.

The Saints' Jim Haslett, his new coach, had Gandy inked in as his starting offensive left tackle before the free-agent signing period was 48 hours old, days before he completed the trade that sent Kyle Turley to Gandy's former employer in St. Louis.

Wayne Gandy Article

Wayne Gandy appeared on \"After The Glory\" segment last night chronicling the life of Jerome \"The Bus\" Bettis. He had a friendly on camera personallity, was quite articulate, and seemed to be a happy fellow who took pride in his work.
