I am certain that the Saints are a better team than their record would indicate. Point of fact:

Trailing by 11, Seattle twice moved into New Orleans territory in the fourth quarter. Those drives ended with an interception by Josh Bullocks and with a Hasselbeck incompletion on fourth-and-9.

I was lucky enough to see some very encouraging things in person from that nationally televised game Sunday night. Here are a few.

The receivers played well. The Saints receivers should do well against a garden variety secondary that has an over-hyped cb in Hall. I want to see Colston push him down and and get in his head like Steve Smith did two weeks ago. Patten and Moore are looking good too. And no one ever talks about what Eric Johnson does for this team.

The line on Sunday night played like the line from last year and I hope that they are in a rhythm now. Brees had all day to throw and Bush did a good job against what I consider a better than average defense.

The Saints defensive line man handled the Seahawks offensive line. I loved watching Hollis Thomas push a lineman around and sack Hasselback.

The secondary is looking better. Bullocks had a blocked kick and an interception and Harper... I love this kid.

McKenzie looked good and Young is making a case that he should start opposite MM. And I think that Jason David will be a good nickel back when he returns.

There is reason to believe that we'll see some good football from the Saints in the next few games. Enjoy the games and wave to the bandwaggoners that jumped off as you go by.
