Panthers nab Terrence Wilkins
The Panthers won the bidding for former Rams wide receiver Terrence Wilkins, who was being pursued by more than five teams following last week's release. Wilkins signed a one-year, $750,000 contract that included a $220,000 signing bonus. He can make an additional $100,000 in incentives. The Packers, Colts, 49ers and Bears were among the team's interested in Wilkins because he could help as a third receiver and as a return specialist. The Colts wanted him because they had lost wide receiver Kevin Dyson for the season with an Achilles tear.
