The way I see it...

Most of our problems can be attributed to the front line on O and D. Considering I am out of state and have only been able to watch the games on TV, its hard to tell if the WR's are just not getting open or if Drew just cant get the ball to them. I studies 4 of this years games I have on tape and I see the same thing time and time again. On a typical passing down, Drew takes the snap and immeidately looks down field. Before our WR's can complete their 10-12 yard routes, the DE's are in the backfield and Drew must check down to Reggie, EJ, or Kerney. Its not like these plays are designed for Kerney.

The Defense has been doing a better job causing pressure the last 2 weeks which has translated to WINS. Now we just need to find a way to get the corners to play closer than 10 yards off the line. I understand they want to get rid of the deep ball stigma but come on guys.

Winning today buys them time to improve, the Bucs losing really helped us out...

NO sacks today which I guess you should give a little credit to the oline. We ran the ball well we did have some holes for the rbs to get through. It looked like Brees had some time I dont know why he checks down to the dump off pass so quickly. It was a win and when we are 4-4 it wont matter that it wasnt pretty it counts as a win.
They had no success on 3rd down. We need to learn how to pile on points and worry about clock managment in the 4th qtr not the 2nd or 3rd.

Re: The way I see it...

You need to start seeing that it's Brees who's struggling.

He HAD time to throw, plenty of it. The thing that I see is he's not anticipating the throw, he's not throwing in the area the route is supposed to intervene. He's trying to wait until he SEES a wide open receiver, but by that time it's too late anyway. That's why he got picked off today. He's also making some boneheaded decisions out there.

I need....NEED to see more Pierre Thomas. This boy has done NOTHING but produce at any time his name has been called. Just because he was undrafted I feel as if he's getting the cold shoulder. Give the boy some snaps, give him the ball a few times.

Also a word to Brees, just throw the ball into the area before the receiver breaks - and throw it accurately. We won't keep the chains moving very long with balls at people's feet, over their heads, and deep balls thrown so poorly.

Congrats Saints on a tough win, good play defense, shape up a little on the gigantic Posture-Pedic cushions we're giving receivers. That's guaranteed 1st downs.
