Karney is ready

The Daily Advertiser - www.theadvertiser.com - Lafayette, LA

Quote:

The anticipated physical play has at least one player licking his chops - Saints fullback Mike Karney.

"Are you kidding? I love matchups like this," Karney said. "I love when you play a team and you know they are going to try to beat you physically. It's a challenge because it's going to come down to who is stronger."
The big fella is pumped...

I'm sure we all love this kid. I know I do. I saw him at the Seahawks game and this dude is thick. Love the attitude.

Now, can someone let Coach Payton know that Karney is pumped, and oh yeah, tell him to PLEASE PLAY KARNEY MORE! Having Karney pumped up and sitting on the sideline won't do us any good. I promise you this, if Payton run Reggie mostly out of single back sets, the Jags are going to kill us. I think they should run Reggie behind Karney majority of the time, just line both of them up and let them do their thing.

I expect to see coach try just that. If you can run right at that front four and be sucessful, that will set the tone for the rest of the game. Coach knows that and I bet he moves over and lets the big dawg eat.

And I thought that I was all alone. Karney is MULTI-talented and has spent most of this year barking from behind the gate. I hope coach lets him out Sunday. Reggie, Stecker, and Thomas will benefit from Karney's street paving skills. Even long term, Reggie will be a much better back running behind Karney, just ask Duece. Karney has great hands and will stop any blitzer in his tracks. That single Reggie deep set is not an effective run scheme. Reggie is too light in the pants and can be snatched by most heavy weights through the middle. If Karney can get Reggie/Stecker/Thomas into the secondary untouched 3-4 times during the game, we WILL win big - Brees is going to go OFF: Rush-130, Pass-250, Clock-38 min, Points 30+, Against <20.
