Re: To the Boobirds

Where were you guys earlier when I graded our 12th man with a big fat F.
You are right. Look he is not the answer and he wont be here next year, probably. But he does one thing very well, kicks the crap out of the ball and makes our special teams look good. If you boo him on field goals then you have to cheer him every time there is a touch back. There are not many kickers that can do what he does there. Or sit the F down and shout up. Right now he needs support. The boo birds are only making things worse. You might as well wear the other teams colors. For better or worse we are stuck with him. So why help the visitors out. I bet you boo the kids on the little league teams too. Support is needed not jeers. You are making matters worse.
Who is out there anyways? Another kicker that is so so and can not reach the end zone on kick offs? I will pass thank you. I can not believe I am defending OMare. I never liked the trade. This is wrong and plan stupid for the fans to do.
Fans in NO still have a lot to learn about being a 12th man. On day they have the faith. To many years of losing I guess. Bad habits die hard.

Re: To the Boobirds

thank you Hagan,

Also, Mare deserves a huge pat-on-the-back for that on-side kick that was perfectly executed.

I think the fans are only hurting their team by booing it. I don't agree with booing a player who is trying to do the right thing and help his team win games (he just obviously doesn't have the ability to be accurate). I DO agree with booing a player who has become a cancer. Mare just needs to be parted with amicably to find a job. Vanderjact please?
Well said Will!

Re: To the Boobirds

I'm a bit torn, but I'm going to have to agree that booing the guy before he executes is pretty low class. He's the guy and he's on our team and we're counting on him to deliver.

Booing after is fine. Boo Payton for keeping him. Don't boo the correct decision to try a fg in game situations.

In this case the unknown scares me less than the known. Mare scares the hell out of me. He can't kick right now and we don't have time to sit around and wait for him to get his head on straight. This guy will cost us games.

Re: To the Boobirds

true enough sam but you have to accept the fact he is what we got. booing does not help him out at all. he is shaky enough already.

Re: To the Boobirds

I'll try to put this in perspective. First and foremost fans do not like bad performing players. Second, New Orleans fans have barely ever tasted succes so their (and mine obviously) tenacity for success is only stronger. I do disagree with booing a guy before he kicks it but he has been doing real bad. Saints fans have done this before. I'll never forget the day Wade Wilson went down with an injury. Do you remember what happened? Well.....while he was down....we started cheering. It was awful. Our fans have done some really dumb things in the past....BUT....given our teams track record and the patience we have all exerted from the years and years of suffering.....what can you expect? Its not easy being a Saints fan. We are at the point where when something threatens our success.....we get mean about it. Why? Because we are desperate for it. All these factors unfortunately lead to behaviors like the ones we saw yestarday.

BINGO!!
