for those who were able to watch the game with sound...and not stuck in a bar with 49er v atl playing on 4 tvs.... i'm curious about two of the plays called

1) early in the game patten makes nice catch and gets considerable yac but appears to fall on his own and tosses the ball backwards to the ground and jags pick it up rather frantically (at this point i scream, "OH NO!" in not so many words) i'm guessing the whistle blew and play was dead...was there any commentary on this?

2)what was the actual call on brees' uhh fumble i mean incomplete pass? i noticed they showed old footage of pats/raiders playoff game..

N.O. food....N.O. music....N.O. Life!!!

Arm was going forward, no fumble.
Patton will really be a big help for us the rest of the season, great hands and routes.
Thanks NE.

Re: 2 questions

yes i am very impressed with patten it just seemed to me that he could have gotten up and run more and laying the ball down backwards was a lateral but without sound i could not hear whistles or was he in fact touched or tripped up

ok nvm i found older thread on same issue
thx

Re: 2 questions

Live, it looked like Patton was down and celebrating. Drew's fumble was a good break, could have been called either way.

Re: 2 questions

Phat,

#1 if you'll scroll back and find the thread "David Patten" we discuss this at length.

#2 - it was ruled incomplete pass, arm going forward.
