Not time for me to give up either. I saw this one coming. How long have you guys watched the Saints win the unwinnable and give back the gifts. Chalk up the late game success to Hasslett. We still have a longgggggggggggg way to go...and its up hill.

No one is suggesting that we don't cheer them on and hope for the best.

The unfortunate reality is that the Saints should have taken care of business AT HOME against the wounded and confused and not only didn't, NEVER looked like it could. A disturbingly flawed 0-8 Div III team exposed glaring weaknesses on both sides of the ball plus the coaching staff.

While losses by the Lions, Giants and Skins and Panthers somewhat mitigate this "effort," each of our next opponents have been gift wrapped the obvious gameplan to negate whatever the team tries to throw at them. Houston is actually a quality club with a solid defense playing with a week's rest and nothing to do but anticipate the Saints at Reliant Stadium. Follow that with another road game against a division opponent who's already beaten us up, the reality is that we may wind up losing another 4 consecutive games. And there's no easy win against the ATL on the road to break that slide.

The best we can hope for is to be spoilers, but considering that essentially no team left on the schedule has a realistic shot at the playoffs save for TB, who's season are we going to spoil?

I'd say this is a lost season. Come on April.

It might well be. I know we'll all be cheering for Brees next week, regardless.

But if there's one single reason I can think of to explain it, I'd have to say it was overconfidence in the abilities of Jason David. He's nothing short of an expensive bust.

If we were to throw in a Polamalu, a LB, and a shutdown CB, I bet we'd be discussing some very different results right now.

Wow we won 4 straight games... lost one and now we should think about trading players and anticipating a high draft pick. Amazing.

Though the Rams were 0-8, the we battling injuries all season long and w/o Bulger and Jackson for parts of the season. We lost to a very good offense that's finally getting healthy.

We're 4-5, and the division title is still within our reach. So is the possibility of 9-11 wins. There's plenty of things to look forward to in the upcoming months, but the draft isn't one of them... at least for me. Winning this division is.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.
