i've been watching em since they came on......and miss em being stuck in dallas......though i've agreed with em for the most part, especially since they were right more than wrong, they do tell it like they see it.........but..........and i say a big but......buddy d. is writing us off in a yr. where we could, (and i feel we could come together to form the whole picture).......go further than any yr before.........jim on the other hand has been the optimistic for a long time but not been there as long as buddy. here is my take.....and let the cards fall where they may......buddy sees things just as i do in an article someone has posted on b&b and is being the doubting thomas in the outcome of this season....and i don't blame him one bit.......why get excited about an offense who can play with the best of em, and a so called defense that may or may not be better than the yr before? so what if we go to the playoffs......we'll probably lose to the first team we play....so what if we beat the 1st team, we'll probably lose to the next one......so what if we make it to to the superbowl, we'll probably lose............anyway you look at it, we are written off for one reason or another......i've said it before, i do not go with heart anymore, i go with gut......who the hell ever thought tampa would beat oakland? especially with a lobsided score, i did'nt........who the hell ever thought tampa would kill atlanta? i did'nt. we cannot foresee the future, that's for sure......but we can look at the cards and see if we wanna stay in the game....... this yr, i wanna be in the game.......if buddy d. is right, ( and that mother is for the most part) i'll eat my words as most saints fans do, and carry on to the next yr.........but, this yr. i say is our best chance we have ever had, no if's, but's, or doubt's about it......after all, i am going with guts........................kirk out, but not in...............smitty

It has to be the unknown factor that buddy is concerned about. It comes down to the defense and who really knows how that is going to play. Are the players they brought in really any better and what if venturi is the problem.

If the defense plays this year then this is the year.

Buddy has all the right in the world to feel the way he does based off past performances by the Saints. Since the odds are stacked against about 95% of teams this year, all fans should feel like their teams will not go to the superbowl.

Facts are, with the way things are in the NFL these days, there\'s not much seperating most of the teams. Given that teams such as the Patriots, Bucs, and the Ravens have won the past few Superbowls, I think realistically the Saints have as good a shot as anyone to reach the superbowl.

So, you can be negitive and say the Saints really have little chance to reach the Superbowl and be right, or you can say that the Saints have just about as much chance as anyone else at reaching the superbowl and also be right.

Me, I say the Saints are going to kick ass and take names. See ya in Huston.

I believe our chances are as good or maybe even better than most other teams. Yes team unity or chemistry play a major part so does some degree of luck and of course talent but don\'t forget the one most important part that can make or break EVERY team in the league....injuries!
Team unity or chemistry is something that coaches and the team leadership will have to create. Talent is something that the coaches are required to obtain or teach. Luck is just that. Blind luck, getting the right bounces or things just going your way more times than not. Injuries are the one thing that is for the most part out of anyones control but make or break a season for not only an individual but the entire team!

Luck? Personally I think that until the team changes their name we will be doomed forever. The home field is built on an Indian burial ground. New Orleans is the modern day Gomorrah. The state motto is \"Show Your Tits\". At half-time during our one playoff win a Black Magic VooDoo ritual was performed on the field. And they call the team the Saints?

Luck... yeah right!
