Before you flame-spray the messenger, consider this:

Despite the horrible start Brees and the Saints had in their first 4 games (and most remember his horrific TD-to-INT ratio in those games), our valiant QB's stock is rising. Right now, after 10 games,

Brees is fifth in total yards,
Only two QB's (Brady and Favre) have a HIGHER pass completion percentage than Brees. This is sort of amazing, considering the number of passes Saints' receivers have dropped this year. Add to that the fact that last year, Brees lit-up the league with a 64.7 completion percentage. Thus far in 2007, his percentage is 67.4%.

If you consider even more:
- not having Deuce in the backfield
- injuries to the OL
- the drive-killing mistakes (turnovers, penalties, etc)

After week 4, Brees' stats were near rock-bottom. Seeing how fast his stock has risen in recent weeks, it is obvious that he's stepping up his game. I'm glad we have him for the stretch run to the postseason.

It doesn't matter.

Brees could have MVP stats but if the team is losing games, it doesn't matter. This isn't fantasy football.

Brees is throwing the ball too much. Brees's throwing of the ball is causing turnovers (whether they are his fault or not). Turnovers gives the ball back to the opposition keeping our points down and pushing the opposition's points up.

I'd be happy if we were winning more games, scoring more, and turning the ball over less.

I'm not happy.
