lets go back to 2006

yall remember draft day right?

well i remember reading that Sean Payton really wanted A.J. Hawk but took reggie because he fell in our lap.
if we could redo which would you prefer now?

with defensive problems we've had last year and this
i tempted to have had A.J Hawk over Reggie Last years draft
maybe sean payton should stick with his first instinct
i mean you know what they say about going with you first instinct and it usually being your best

Done deal. ancient history. The pick remains the same.

I would stick with Bush.

What about the 2007 draft? Anyone but the mothballed Meachum would have contributed by now.

I still would have picked Reggie Bush, for every Bush that comes along ther gonna be 10 good linebackers. As andersen said, think of the 2007 draft, Imagine us picking Paul Posluszny instead of Meachem...

The draft is a crap shoot you never know what your gonna get. Everyone had Bush as the best player in the draft and when you pick 2nd your happy to get the best player in the draft. I think Posluszy (sp???) is done for the year so we might get more production from the inactive Meachum.

Not "everyone" had Reggie Number on on there list. If so Houston wouldn't have passed on him.

How is that Reggie Bush pick working out for you???

We missed a great oppitunity to trade the pick and get some extra picks. I do believe that the Draft can be a crap shoot but with more picks you have more of a chance at stricking gold.

Do the math... it takes more than one player to have a good football team. I said it before I'll say it again we are lacking in the talent department and we need a major overhaul in that area which we blew by not trading away the Reggie Bush pick.

Houston passed on Bush because they believed that he wouldn't work within the salary framework they were looking for. They thought it would be become a J Russel type situation.

Bush really isn't the problem. He's worked well in the year and a half thay he's been here.

Trading the pick would have been foolish from a PR standpoint. Trading the pick if Bush had been picked first may have worked. But it's been nearly two years later and Houston is still being panned for picking Williams.

At the time the Saints needed more than a football player (or two or three). They needed an icon to rally around. Bush has filled that role admirably.

I posit that if the Saints had not picked Bush and done well last year, they would not in fact still be in the region. That's how important picking Bush was.
