Payton was then asked about the opening at Michigan.

"There really isn't anything there. The job I have here is fantastic and it is the job I want. We have great ownership and we have the greatest fans in the world and I think the world of that program and the Big Ten, but this is the job I am interested in," said Payton. Sean Payton would be a wonderful addition to the college ranks. He could run his gadget offense, and rarely would he be second guessed. If anyone thought that Steve Spurrier ran up a score while at Florida, Sean Payton would run it up even more. I could see Payton as a college coach calling a flea flicker with 2 seconds left in a game that he is up 45-9.
