Whats wrong with believing?

I'm going to address a few things about the Saints and their fans.

1. Reggie Bush is not a "bust" in my opinion. He hasn't yet lived up to expectations, but in no way is he a bust. He was a pivital part in the Saints going to the NFC Championship Game last year. He has been a vital part of the Saints' offense this year. He creates matchup problems for other teams. I do believe that the runningback will have have a better year next season....if anything all that has been proven is that the New Orleans Saints and Reggie Bush NEED Deuce McAllister. Losing Deuce for the season was a big blow to the offense because Bush was entrusted with the No 1 RB job. Bush and the Saints were great last year because Bush and McAllister were both in the backfield. If anything, this season shows how important Deuce is to the offense. Bush has had some bad games, but with a healthy Deuce back next season, I will look forward to seeing more of what we saw last year from both.

2. Coach Payton is a good coach. He is only in his second season as a head coach in the NFL. He has done a great job. A large reason we can even talk playoffs right now is because the Head Coach didn't allow the team to quit. He has shown different leadership skills than what we saw last year. The team hasn't been as good, but the Coach has his team disciplined enough not to quit. This team still has the confidence that they can reach the post season.

3. What is wrong with believing? I, unlike some fans, am not ready to call it a season. Though I share the frustration with all of you, I cannot and will not allow myself to say this team is finished. If the Saints lose the next two games, I won't talk anything but draft. There is nothing wrong with fans hoping and believing that this team can still finish the season with a invitation to the wild card game.

Personally, it is a lot more fun watching a game of football that has meaning. I'm not ready to call it a season and I'm glad Coach Payton and the New Orleans Saints aren't ready to call it either.

So for those fans who still "Believe", I'll be watching the same game with you tonight. I'll be watching hoping for a win and holding on to the small possibility that the Saints can finish this season the way they should have started it. I have no interest in draft spots or anything that has to do with this season being over, until the Saints are actually out of the hunt.

Go Saints, lets win this game and keep moving forward.

Remember the Colorado Rockies ... it's gonna take a lot to make the playoffs, but keep winning and it can happen.

Agree strongly with #1 and #2.

#3 - as long as the team is playing I love it. Be it with something on the line or not. One game at a time. All I ask for 110%

Re: Whats wrong with believing?

Thanks Hagan. I always love watching the Saints play, too. I just enjoy it that much more if they are working for a playoff shot. It makes it that much more exciting.

I just have been reading alot of fans giving up on the season and the team this year. People looking more forward to what draft spot the team ends up in, instead of the fast approaching season saving game tonight. I just want to see the Saints win and win out....prove the naysayers wrong. I'm not saying that this team is going to the playoffs, but they still have a shot. Ofcourse I'm one of the guys that watches the game until the very end even if the Saints are losing, just in case something great happens.
