Re: Drew Brees on Sirius

Talking about run game- Stecker - and how its helped us over the last two weeks. Shifts and moving formations helps us out.

Q: What is aaron giving you v reggie in the last two wins.

A: Ability to get 4-5 yds per run- positive play - pretty vanilla answer ( didnt throw reggie under the bus

MArques Coslton- Drew says he is the "stud"....Continues to get better, works hard in practice..week in week out

Patten, come up big and total professional. Enjoys football. Great mentor to young Wideouts. Colston picks his brain alot.

Out coach is high character just like the players. No fingerpointing, each man looked in mirror to see what they could do to get better, coach stepped up taking the blame and is growing as head coach.

Talking about Coach and aggressiveness...loves it.Says its infectious. Goes tru the team. Loves the aggressive play calling. Always playing to win, not playing to not to lose.

Not worried about "running uop the score" -

Putting it together against Arizona
Drew: Needed our best game. Same records. Must win. Must control the football and protect from turnovers.

Why is the passing working so well

Drew: it's everybody. Receivers getting open. Has confidence in them. Game plan worked out and they have confidence. From here on out it's a playoff game.

Consistency from last few weeks. What's the difference from the beginning?

Drew: the emergent of the running game. Stecker has stepped up. 100 Yards rushing. 5-6 yards a pop. Going in with the thought of wanting to be balanced. But the last few it's worked out.

What has Stecker given that Reggie didn't?

Drew: It's really been he and Pierre getting 5-6 yards a gain. Getting third downs managable. Coverting on third and sustaining drives. Finishing with points. That's the way you want to play the game.
"

Colston is on fire, why?

Drew: He's a stud. Trying to find himself at first but over the last six or seven he's come along. Continues to get better. Works hard. Has a lot of confidence in him.

David Patton

Drew: Yeah, he's come up big. Professional. Great addition. Not only his productivity but professionalism. Fun to be around. Great mentor for Colston and his development.

Thoughts on Sean Payton:

Drew: High character guy. Faced situations with adversity and there was no finger pointing. What can I do individually to help? Payton took some of the blame. Everyone stepping up their game. Staying focused and ready to play. Continues to grow.

Playing QB for Payton, "peddle to the metal" coach...fourth and ones

Drew: Gotta be honest, I love it. Aggresive mindset. Get's the whole team in to that attitude. To win in this league you can't get conservative. Gonna be taking shots to win. Playing to win.

Are you running it up? (Not sure what he ment)

Drew: You are trying to win this game. The teams are out after you every week. Gotta play aggresively. Shows confidence payton has in the team to do special things.

This past week against ariz...gives fans hope...played spotty at time this year, what are reasons for optimism the rest of season.

Drew. We have no choice. We are in this situation b/c of the way we started. Gotta win this week against Philly. Their D is playing well.. Got a history with them from last year. Gonna be a hard

Why do we have hope/optimism to run table?

We are playing well and have no choice. We are in 7-7 because of 0-4 start. Feels like playoff team. We have to win Philly coming off big win in Dallas. HAve some history with Philly so they are expecting a hard game.

signed off....
