i put all this here to remind us that sometimes great backs take a little time that we should wait to call reggie a bust or horrible running back all of these are guys we call great running backs but took time to live up to potential
most of these are "small running backs"

How many of those players accomplished those stats in 12 games vs 16? Could be like comparing apples to oranges in some cases.

Re: reasons to be hopefull for reggie in 2008

marcus allen first season 9 games, second 16,third 16*
tiki barber first 12, second 16, third 16, fourth 16*
herschel Walker first 16, second 12, third 16*
Brian Westbrook first 15, second 15, third 13, fourth 12, fifth 15*
O.J. Simpson first 13, second 8, third 14, fifth 14*
reggie Bush first 16, second 12
so the argument of games played doesn't really fit so i put all this here to remind us that sometimes great backs take a little time that we should wait to call reggie a bust or horrible running back all of these are guys we call great running backs but took time to live up to potential

Supes, I was not invoking a argument. I was only pointing out that stats sometimes have a multi-dimensional view.

BTW; I do not think RB is a bust. He is a great receiver out of the backfield and can cause havoc with defenses when he helps spread the field. As a "full time" running back...IMHO the Saints should leave that muscle to Duece!

I've always felt a RB starts to peek during the 3rd season. I guess we will see. Overall, I think that him having to sit out the final month of last season is going to help him. I know he had to take notes on what Stecker and Thomas did.

Me too. Does this site support tables? Would be a nice feature, but I've never seen it used.
