Frank Morton not Matt Forte is the Tulane player to watch

.I know everyone loves Matt Forte, as do I, but I want to bring up his Tulane team mate.

Frank Morton, Tulane, DT, 6-3, 327, 5.25.
Projected Round: 4-5.

I remember watching him against LSU and saying man he is blowing up the interior of the LSU line. I watched him play a few more times and was very impressed with him. He might be the steal of the NFL draft for 2008. Look at his size and speed alone makes you take a double take. Compair him to the #1 DT in the draft:

Glenn Dorsey, LSU, DT, 6-2, 299, 5.12.

You have to say he has the measurables. He is in my top ten players that pro day will make or break. The immeasurable seem to be there to. He always stayed active and never took a play off. Too bad he played for Tulane. Anywhere else in a big time system he would be at the least a 2nd rounder.

Lets see what happens but keep an eye on this kid. He is a HT plus some more. With a good work out do not be surprised to see him go as high as the third. They just do not make big guy that run this fast everyday. We may have found a DT that can rotate with HT without us loosing an ounce of flesh or HT intensity. He definitely is a rotational guy. Just to big to be a full time player. Needs to work on his conditioning a bit for NFL play.

Other day 2 picks at DT to watch

Jason Shirley (Sr.), Fresno State, 6-5, 330, 5.10

Nick Hayden (Sr.), Wisconsin, 6-5, 301, 5.15

Passing lanes would get smaller with a couple of these big tall boys in on passing downs. Shirey is the other I am watching closely.

I wouldn't be mad if we got him on Day 2.

Compared only the size and speed. Thats it. I never said anything about a top 5 pick. So Frank is safe. He was not asked to care Dorsey's jock.

Did you watch the game? He dominated the LSU interior OL. He was a beast. Thats not easy.
Supes reminded me of him in his mock draft

Didn't get to watch Morton. Does he have a motor like La'Roi Glover by any chance?

Once people find out I'm from Louisiana they automatically assume that I'm an LSU fan. Here is a perfect example of why I'm not. Total arrogance and possibly ignorance in the above statement. Why is it that majority of tiger fans think unless a player played at lsu that they are not as good. I'm not saying Morton is better than Dorsey but I do think there is a comparison of the two. He defintely played well against LSU.

Yes they did adjust at half time. They doubled down on him and ran traps against him. Other than that they ran away from him and rolled out the pocket also. But that does not take away the way he played.

In the NFL the DT position is a rotation. So I do not see that as a negative. Giants seem to do well.
