TD Passes??

Last year Aaron Brooks threw 27-TD passes to lead the NFC. Was this a fluke or is Aaron capiable of matching that feat again this year?

He can beat it and probably will.
I can see him average 2/game, which gives him 32.
We have a lot more red zone weapons now, other than Deuce.

He may decide to run a few more in this year.

He should eclipse that mark this year. Conwell should be a fantastic weapon and with our WR depth someone will be coverage at any given time.

I think the big key is Aaron adding the mobility dimension back into his game. Quick decisions and recognition will elevate him to pro bowl level.

I also beleive he should be able to better that number this year because of a number of factors. First, by most accounts the guys that should give him more time in the pocket and allow him to \'comfortably\' step into his throws should be a stronger, more cohesive bunch than last year. He has also had another year to mature and hopefully feel better about both himself and his team. he should also have an even more talented receiving corps than last year to drop those TD passes into. And lastly, the SAINTS are just going to kick some ass this year -- no more Mr. Nice Guy (at least I hope).

As always, this can all become moot if we suffer injuries to too many key players, but I for one an counting on a BIG season.

Go SAINTS!!!!!

Of course Brooks can do better next year. I think what many people seem to overlook quite often when analyzing last season is the number of new starters we had on offense, especially in the skill positions. Deuce was a first year starter. Donte was a rookie. Pathon was a first year starter for the Saints. Sloan was a first year starter for the Saints. Our left tackle was playing out of position.

We still set records on offense.

Yes, the defense collapsed, but this is a very young offense with a quarterback who is just entering his prime and becoming comfortable with the weapons around him. I predict that Brooks will have at least 35 TDs this year.

I do wish he\'d stop grinning after INTs. Sure Favre can do that; he\'s got a ring.

AB has the talent and talent around him in a system that could produce over 30 TDs through the air and over 20 on the ground. It is reasonble to think that this offense can have even more success than last year. If only the defense gets the ball back sooner we should have more possessions. This in itself allows for the possibility of more scoring opportunites. However, play calling and how we attack in the red zone could alter the ground/air scoring ratios. Just score often baby. Seven over Three!!!!!

SaintNik, you bring up a good point....

Nothing frustrated me more than watching us get inside the 20 last season, especially in the second half of the season. The Cleveland game was probably the worst for this. I realize we didn\'t have Deuce for that one, but you could see the playcalling in the red zone was lame. It was almost like McCarthy was telling Brooks to be over cautious on 1st and 2nd and then force it on 3rd.

With the type of offense we run, his td\'s will come, if he stays healthy. The problem with Brooks as is with Farve, is interceptions. He must keep down his mistakes. He takes a lot of chances, as I think all good qbs must do, but chances are just that. When you take a chance, you risk failure as well as success.
