They did have someone that could pound the ball: Stecker (as we found out the last 3 games) and Karney (who for some strange reason is rarely given the ball).

I think Deuce will do whatever is necessary to retire as a Saint. I believe he still has a few years left in the tank.

Stephen Davis did great with a serious knee injury. Deuce is more of a swerve back than a hard cutter so my bet is he will be fine. His injury probably kept him on the team. Deuce can still run.

Re: Deuce-----what is he worth?

The Saints could be in a bad spot. I know darn well they do not want to give Deuce that roster bonus on March 1st, but at the same time it could be a potential public relations nightmare if they release him. Hopefully, everyone can save face. Deuce by reworking his contract, and the Saints adding the money back as very easy to obtain incentives.

Very, very well put dberce1.

I woun't blame the oline for Reggie not having holes to run through. They are there, Reggie just won't run through them.

I don't mean to bash Reggie, but this is his year to prove that he can be THE runningback for this team. So far he has shown me he CAN NOT. Stecker, and PT had no problems running between the tackles, so who has the problem? Reggie or the Oline?

Oh yeah, GIVE KARNEY THE DARN BALL ONCE IN A WHILE!!!

Re: Deuce-----what is he worth?

I will definately throw my vote towards him staying a Saint. Duece has been the backbone of this offense for many years, and I think he will come back good as new. Edgerrin James had both ACL's torn, and he is still a factor. I will even say that I think Duece is a better RB than James, so give him the mill, and suit him up for 08!

Re: Deuce-----what is he worth?

I agree that he should stay a Saint and collect the mil. No one would give up anyone for him right now, so he is ours by default.

A great post talked about re-working his deal, which could help Deuce also. If he gets cut, I don't think we'll see a lot of teams throwing 5 mill a year at a 29 year old banged up RB

Hopefully we get this one right, Put me doe for 1100 yards next year, in the B & G

give him the bonus, rework his deal, and cut down on his carries.

nah, don't put it all on Reggie liek that. this year AND next year are his years to show that he can be Brian Westbrook.
