CB Jack Ikegwuonu quesiton

Will his injury cause him to not get drafted? The guy was considered one of the top CBs a few weeks ago and I was wondering if we shouldnt take a chance on him if hes still available in the 6th or 7th round. I realize hes going to have to sit out a year, but our problems arent fixable in one year, and how often to those late rounds really pan out? The chargers are now reaping the benefits for being patient with cromartie.

I share the same train of thought. I wouldn't mind drafting him with our
7th round pick... there's little risk and it could be very rewarding.

I'm sorry, but who is Jack Ikegwuonu, and what's his injury?

Hes a junior out of Wisconsin, I read he measures at 6'1, 195 lbs.

He tore his ACL a few weeks ago and is out all of next season. Up until the injury he was projected as one of the top 3 or 4 CBs in the draft this year and that was prior to Jenkins and others announcing they'd return to school. It just seems to me there might be a lot of reward with little risk if we picked him up in the late rounds.

Yep that kills him in the draft. He maybe better off dropping out of the draft and proving his knee is healed but that is risky also. Tough call. Someone will risk it. But a 7th? Doubt it. he was a 2nd or 3rd rounder in the draft. So some one will spend a 5th or a 6th on him. Medical reviews have to be pretty bad for him to fall all the way off the board.

Probably a team that is well off could red shirt the guy for a year, I don't see a team like the Saints having that luxury.

Normally I'd think that way too. But watching Cromartie this past year may require a rethought.

Dude is 6'1". He could be a steal.
