Re: still think this is gonna die, hagan?

Lets see what he has. The thing that I am watching is the coaches and owners reaction more than I am watching the media. So far none off them is screaming for heads to role. To them it is not a big deal. So I am assuming here it is more wide spread than just the Pats. Till then I think signal calling for the defense by radio will be the big results from all of this. There maybe some hand slapping but thats about it.

I think this is going to go further than people think, just like the roids, it is going to become a witch-hunt cause the government is involved.

The government needs to stay away from sports. If the coaches and owners are not that concerned, then why does the government need to step in? What a freaking joke. Yes, once the government steps in, the situation is going to get nasty.

Re: still think this is gonna die, hagan?

The government is already deeply enmeshed in the NFL. Billions of dollars are associated with it, special interests and lobbies play a factor into campaigns, taxpayers pay for the stadiums, and antitrust allegations crop up pretty much yearly. How many times have the NFL, TimeWarner, Cox, DirecTV, and Dish Network sat in front of Senate/House committees?

I agree that government *shouldn't* be involved in sports. But it is. Let's not delude ourselves.
