Saints defensive end Charles Grant, who was stabbed in the neck injury during an altercation outside a Georgia night club earlier this month, was healthy and in good spirits at Bush's event Friday night.

The injury was not severe, and Grant said he is looking to move forward.

"I'm good," he said. "You know, with this here, when you're an African-American and you're in certain situations, certain people really envy you and your status and them not being able to overcome what I could overcome. They look with jealousy. They'll do anything to bring you down. But I've got a lot of great angels to watch over me and my inner circle."

Grant, who is not facing any legal ramifications for the incident, said the real tragedy was that a young pregnant woman, an innocent bystander, was shot and killed during the melee.

I don't think Grant being an African-American was really an issue, but since he thinks it is, all the more reason for him to make better choices. He is partially correct though. The real issue is he is an elite athlete playing in the NFL. Since Grant is smart enough to realize about being in certain situations, maybe common sense should tell him to stay out of those situations. Hanging out at nightclubs is not a very wise thing for anyone to do, especially if you are a known star. I am glad that Grant is doing well, and yes he is correct, the real tragedy is the young woman who was killed. Very senseless crap...
