Saints are Zach's best option | Inside the Dolphins

The Saints, who’ll bring Thomas in for a visit this week, look like a perfect fit for Thomas after the Dolphins cut him last week.

Amen, like the youngster out of Oklahoma LB Curtis Lofton. That guy will be a tackling machine in the NFL. Zach Thomas would be the perfect mentor.

ZT visits the Pats today and he says....

“It has to be a winning team first,” he said. “I’ve got to fit the scheme. I’m looking at a team with a group of good guys. I’m looking at the place because I will be living there. And I’m looking to see what their quarterback situation is because you need a good quarterback and a good offense to win.”

I hope the Saints at least get a chance to talk to him. The Patriots have already offered him a contract:

PATS OFFER DEAL TO THOMAS

Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Patriots have offered a contract to free-agent linebacker Zach Thomas, who was cut by the Dolphins last week.

Thomas and agent Drew Rosenhaus visited with the Patriots on Monday.

Next up? A visit to New Orleans. The Cowboys, Texans, Bills, and Jets also are interested in acquiring Thomas.

I don't want to see this guy in new England please sign him.

I have heard that your offence would be a lot more deadly if the running game worked better to open up the pass... you guys agree or is my hear say wrong?

Boltsfan619 - Yes, that is true. There was very little running game from the Saints in 07. When Deuce McAllister went down it really hurt the offense. Reggie Bush just couldn't carry the load, finally late in the season the Saints finally got better production from Aaron Stecker and Pierre Thomas. When the running game clicks, the passing game for the Saints is simply lethal.

OK good to know thanks for the information. I am wanting to see your team do well for Drew's sake... accept when you play the Chargers.
Saints are basically my 5th favorite team (1. chargers 2. whoever is playing the Raiders 3. Whoever is playing against Eli manning, 4. Whoever is playing the pats 5. Saints). sounds like you guys have a lot to look forward to in the near future if your team stays healthy. Drew is a great QB but cant Handel things if the team dosnt need to do anything to stop the run. Hope Zach sees that when he is looking for a contract. I really don't want to see the pats pic anyone up. Boston fans are spoiled enough.
