Why not draft Jerod Mayo!?.. Saints can keep the trend of selecting SEC players..

This stud Linebacker from Tennessee ran a 4.54 in the 40-Yard Dash.. why not get him in the second round! I like Rivers, but I really want DRC.. and this Mayo lead the SEC in tackles and can play outside linebacker. I think leading the SEC in tackles is much more impressive than Keith Rivers leading his team against one of the weakest strength of competition.. I think USC played 3 ranked teams all season?

"An athletic linebacker who made the move from outside to inside linebacker last season with spectacular results -- earning first team SEC accolades in leading the conference with 140 tackles. Mayo's speed and size may cause scouts to consider moving him back outside at the next level, but he seemed to gain more and more confidence at his new position as the season wore on, averaging 15 tackles over his final four games"

Tennessee players on the Saints roster cause me to drink and my vocab begins to echoe that of a sailor.

I really don't care how many tackles a guy makes... I want to see SACKS. Give me those numbers and I'll entertain the thought.

Re: No need to draft Keith Rivers..

You know Euph... Keith Rivers isn't exactly an elite blitzer my any means. In 4 years of college football, he has 5.5 career stats. With that said, I'd be happy with either Rivers or Mayo. I'd rather us take a stab at one of top tier corners and wait for a Mayo or Lofton in the second round.

If it's a sack artist that you prefer, Quentin Groves is the guy. I'd love to have him also. Not much is being said about him... but I think he'll be an big time stud.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

All little common sense goes a long way.

If Rivers has an impressive pro day I may be back on his bandwagon.. I think any of those guys will be solid enough..

I think rivers is a beast ... he is the best lb in the draft and would start immediately for us and solidfy our front seven...drc would be nice but rivers would have more of an impact ...

I am with ya! Donte Stallworth and his hamstring problems for the first few years come to mind. The guy was off the field more than on it!

Re: No need to draft Keith Rivers..

OLB vs inside? mayo is inside. Apples and oranges. Rivers Vs Conner ok but the other is silly. Lets talk the new vs old hype in the second
Cliff Avril, DE/OLB, Purdue
Vs
Marcus Howard, OLB, Georgia
Or
Erin Henderson, OLB, Maryland
Vs
Xavier Adibi, OLB, Virginia Tech
For the third
i would rather look at the third round here
Jason Jones, DE/OLB, Eastern Michigan
Vs
Shawn Crable, OLB, Michigan
Then okay. but the ay the combine worked out I like
Jonathan Goff, ILB, Vanderbilt
In the fourth over Mayo.
