Good news, bad news for New Orleans Saints' offensive l

The News Star - www.thenewsstar.com - Monroe, LA

Goodwin, 29, has been the Saints' top backup at center and guard since Sean Payton became the head coach in 2006 and he capably started two games at center last year when Faine was injured. Goodwin could move in as the starting center.

As a result of their pre-free agency moves, the Saints now have four offensive line starters under contract with Nesbit joining left tackle Jamaal Brown, right guard Jahri Evans and right tackle Jon Stinchcomb in the fold. And, they appear to be covered at center even after Faine departed.

—TE Eric Johnson gave the Saints a nice receiving threat with 48 catches, but was injured late in the season although they likely want him back.

TE Billy Miller has shown toughness as a willing blocker and also caught 27 passes last season. As a result, he could be part of the team's plans in '08.

He Could ??? why isn't he. What more does he have to prove.

Miller was very impressive when he played. I still can't shake the image of Johnson handing the Texans 2 interceptions off of his hands in the game last season.

Sign Troupe. He has loads of talent & Brees knows how to use his TE. He never had a chance to shine with the Titans version of Aaron Brooks at QB.
