Will We Pick A TE?
 

I'm new and this is my first post but I've been coming here for news on Saints free agency and draft news. From what I've read it seems like most people want to see us go all D all the time in the draft. I'm all for that because God knows we need some playmakers on that side of the ball. However I think one posistion that might be getting overlooked is TE. If you look at the depth chart as it stands right now it's not awe inspiring. I like Billy Miller just as much as the next guy and he has made some big catches for us but come on, Billy is not putting fear into the hearts of opposing defenses. I hear the front office wants Eric Johnson back. Why? He had one great year for the 49ers years ago and has been a broken player ever since. I read a post that said that Mark Campbell is healthy. That's great but he's still washed up.

I think that if the value is there on a TE in the middle rounds we should pull the trigger. One guy I really like is Martellus Bennett from Texas A&M. The guy is 6-6 259 running in the 4.6 range. He would be a great target over the middle and maybe having a real TE threat would help open things up on the outside. Anway, who are some other good TE prospects in this year's draft?

Welcome aboard. I have no clue. the saints seem happy picking through the leftovers in FA for the past two years. Time will arrive when they need to spend a pick on a TE. Is it this year? there are some good mid round picks this year. but we gave up a 4th so who knows.
