Looking more and more like D-tackle first pick

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I like Pat Sims in the second round. Nice compliment to Young, and would be a nice alternate to Thomas....

DRC has done what his whole college career? He was off the radar till the Senior Bowl. One dame doesn't warrant a top 10 pick.
I've actually seen DRC play in real life. I live a couple of hours away from the college. Trust me, he is good. One problem I don't like is he tries to be physical sometimes too much. And I know we tried the fat experiment. But I still like Rubin. Double teamed alot.

In real life... is there another life to see him in???

The only case I can see someone making for why we should draft a potential sleeper pick with the 10th pick is who he is related to and through in the Mannings in the post. He isn't even rated as number at his position.

I know people have agenda's wanting there favs drafted but top 10 pick we need someone to come in, start and dominate from day one. No someone who is going to have to develop.

I meant instead of listening to what scouts think I actually saw him. True I haven't watched the others and he was going against lower competition, but he is fluid in his back peddleing, good break on the ball, and breaks passes up. Honestly I'd love to have Antione Cason before DRC too but thats because he is solid but no more room to grow. But with DRC when he adds some weight and all, he will be really good.

I respect your opinon but I still have Rivers over him anyday!

But the topic - being DT... I'd give up a second to go get him (DORSEY) at 2.

But do you think if we traded our second in a deal for Dorsey we would swing a deal to get another 2nd? I think this draft is solid in the 2-4 rounds at our positions of need. Going by draft classes, I would agree to get Rivers because LB is thinner than CB and DT (but Xavier in the secound is perfect )

Lane (Kukuihaele, HI): Do you think Pat Sims is a better fit for Atlanta's defensive scheme over Glenn Dorsey?

Todd McShay: No. Not even close. Similar styles but that's like comparing a porsche to a mazda miata... Plus, Sims is slipping due to character concerns. He will probably slide to Day 2.
