...and that would be a wonderful thing.

The Saints need to continue to upgrade the front 7 of the defense. DT first. Will LB second. There's no need to talk about a 3rd option for the first round.

Ideal: Dorsey
Excellent: Ellis
Acceptable: Rivers

Anything else is not an option for the Saints in their current state.

What's with the preconceived notion that no other player will work out or make an immediate impact? It's like if we can't get any of those 3 players, there's not point in making a first round pick. Makes no sense. Ideally we'd want Dorsey or Ellis, but if we can't get either... the sky won't be falling. Players such as Connor or Mayo in my opinion should pay immediate dividends to whichever team select them... that's just to name a few.

its not that they wouldnt have an impact but i think that a DT will have more of an impact on our Defense than any other position... while i think mayo and conner will both be better than shanle eventually, as a rookie i dont think they would be that much of an upgrade at that position this year... none of the LBs this year have the ability of a Patrick Willis and i dont see his type of production from any of them..

We have a winner. I put him in the same class as Chad Greenway who went 17th in the 2007 draft.

Re: Talib instead of Cromartie?

If we're going to sit here and compare all linebackers to Patrick Willis every year, every linebacker coming out any year probably wouldn't be able to match his type of production. Willis is a rare specimen... let's not forget that.
