Joe "Hollywood" Horn Interview

Pro Football Central Radio had Joe Horn on the show last night.
I'm posting the archive of that interview only. Hope you guys enjoy!

?: Asks about days in New Orleans.
A: 10-6 was phenomenal, 7 years was worth it.

?: Regrets for the way it ended?
A: No, hurt about leaving. Coaches wanted new guys, to come in with his guys. I took the good with the bad and kept on rolling.

?: You had Haslett / Payton comes in. Are you surprised Haslett isn't a head coach right now?
A: Yes, he's great blah blah blah.

(No third person yet)

?: Joe do you think the rookie contracts making $$$, is it a bone of contention for you?
A: It is what it is (repeat). They deserve it. Owners make money. I don't hate that they're getting paid.

?: About opting out of the CBA. Getting something done so no work stoppage?
A: Yes b/c fans want that. They'll get a deal done.

?: Asks about current situation. About wanting to be traded. New coach, young guys, do you have regrets about making it public?
A: I said what I felt. I hadn't talked to the coaches until that evening. I respect the coach. Better for us to part ways. I love those young cats. I can still be a starting WR in this league. If I can go to a team that's trying to win the SB I'll go and be a starting receiver.

?: If you had your way you'd start. If not you'd be a mentor. Comments about him being a Seachicken.
A: I'd have LOVED to stay in Atlanta and win a Superbowl.

Alright, after that last sentence, it's almost impossible to go on.
Goodbye Joe and thanks for the memories!

Re: Joe "Hollywood" Horn Interview

It's easy to paint Joe as a "Me First" kind of guy.
Mostly because he is a "Me First" kind of guy.
He has had to be.
He wasn't drafted high.
Languished in K.C.
He came here and performed as an All-Pro.
He signed a backloaded contract.
He got kicked to the curb by the new regieme.
Joe was always available for talk and autographs at Airline Hwy.
I don't hate him for signing with the Falclowns.
God Bless the man.
Hell. If I was signing the checks, I would pay him just for his energy and enthusiasm alone.

I have said it before and will say it again:
"JOE IS THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I'm no one.
Who are you?
