Rattay is schooling Brooks on ball placement .

The name for the Saints receiving corps should be the diggers , Brooks is at his best throwing to a receivers knees . One good one in the endzone , but the rest are at the knees .

Duece is being plowed into the middle like a jack hammer .

Rattay was performing precision surgery on the number 1 defense .

Carter broke someones collarbone on the first play , Sullivan is coming along .

Brooks completed 7 of 8 on the first drive.

Brooks throws excellent TD pass on a rope from about 20yds out.

Run defense looks good.

Pass defense looks very bad.

Kenny Smith one sack and almost another

Sounds like they are performing badly. I know this is pre-season, but when do you get concerned that the #1 offense, can only score on 2nd/3rd string teams.

I dont know what happened to the defense in the second quarter. They played better against the first string! I hope this isn\'t a preview of how they will \"down to the competition.\" Offence looks good, Brooks needs to take this game more seriously. How many QBs will come off the field smiling when he throws the ball 5 yds behind Micheal Lewis on 3rd down? Duece looks great, Bently looked solid, Dale Carter looks ready. Somebody wake me up when we figure out how to execute a screen properly!!! Uh.....ok...I think thats all I have for the first half.

The offense has done Ok. It\'s the pass defense that looks bad. The offense drove about 65 yds down the field on the first drive and had to settle for a FG. and that was against the first string Defense.

Brooks looks good. Duece ran the ball fairly good.

At he half what jumps out is Darren Smith is playing well again, Sullivan got some pressure, got to the QB a couple times. Kenny Smith got a sack and is playing well. Hodge made a strong tackle and Grady Jackson continues to make big plays for losses. Dale Carter made several good hits and looks strong.
The pass defense overall is pretty bad. Ashley Ambrose got beat for yards on two plays and was tackling poorly all half. Thomas got burned for a touch down and the niners went at him twice in a row with the same fade route to do it. The Niners reserves cut through the Saints starters eaisly.

On offense the Saints got there first touch down and did it quickly against nothing but the niners reserves. On the Saints other possessions there were many mistakes that the Saints were able to overcome with big plays. In the end the mistakes cought up with them to kill several drives, but they were able to move the ball. Brooks missed a wide open Lewis to kill a drive and penalities and line breakdowns killed others. Duece looks great running hard and sliding through little holes for solid gains. He also caught the ball well and made solid gains on passes. Brooks threw well most of the time makeing only two bad passes in the half. He moved well and evaded the rush several times to make completions.
On special teams Michel Lewis is havig a great game with two solid returns the Niners squibbed it to try to slow Lewis down to end the half.

Niners second string turn the Saints first string away near the endzone .

Brooks and company are starting the second half and come away with a field goal .....

Is it ok to start being concerned about the offense yet? Only scoring has been against reserves all preseason.

During the second half of last year the saints could move the ball easily betwen the 20\'s but had problems getting the ball in the end zone. I know its only preseason but I don\'t see anything that tells me this team can score TD\'s when they get the ball in the red zone.

Defense still can\'t tackle nor stop the pass.

Who is going to be the new coach next year??? lol
