After much soul searching and some football schooling from some of the best teachers anywhere (WhoDat, Saintz08, FWtex) I have see the error of my thinking.

Now, I have to admit, I wasn't a willing pupil. I can be hard headed at times. Looking back at my way of thinking-" Man, was I a damn fool or what?" I had completely fooled myself into thinking we had a chance to go to the Superbowl.

I thought that we had a petty damn good QB and an offense that could score with anyone. I thought that we had the best special teams in the league. You know what? I was even willing to let the defense play a couple of games before I wrote the team off.

All I can do is laugh about how rediclous I must have sounded posting all that garbage on here. Everyone, I hope you can please forgive me.

I now see how wrong I was -all because of a few very knowlegeable fans on this site.

I want to send out a "THANK YOU" to those special people.

I would love for you to stand on the sidelines and coach one Saints game in the dome. Just one!! You could do all the things you tellin\' us about.

If you coached 1 Saints game--Good!!

If you won the game --Great!!

When you lost all control of the game and 65,000 fans bum rushed you-- Priceless!!

Wanted to wait on WhoDat to check in on this facetious sarcasm that saintz08 and FWtex swallowed like Billy the Bass from BillyC. Couldn\'t wait any longer guys! The key to his message is the statement that he was \"willing to to let the defense play a couple of weeks before I wrote the team off\". Why don\'t we all try having a little patience with the team and give them the benefit of doubt. The regular season hasn\'t even started and some of you have already thrown in the towel. No team will be officially eliminated until at least the beginning of November. It doesn\'t matter if you start out 2-6 or 6-2, evidenced by last years flop after a good start. What counts is a winning record over the course of 16 games that gets you into the playoffs. It all starts over after that. Even the lowest seeded wildcard team has a chance to win it all.

Here\'s what I don\'t understand. It\'s OK right now for all of you to be predicting that the Saints will have a top 5 offense, that the defense WILL gel and get better, blah blah blah, yatta yatta yatta..........

That\'s OK right?

But it\'s NOT OK to think the opposite. Why, b/c it\'s a scary thought? B/c another season without a winning or playoff bound team makes your stomach turn. Maybe, but the reality of the situation is that THAT is EQUALLY as possible.

So to YOU Saintfan, Billy, SaintNik... etc. Why don\'t you wait until the first game before you start predicting that the offense will be great and the defense will come together?!?! After all, you\'re basing those beliefs on the SAME or LESS evidence as our statements.

Waiting is the hardest part! Seeing as we have no choice but to, I like the idea that we are undefeated and there is the possibliity of staying that way. I get that same warm feeling when kids tell me what they want for Christmas, but, there are a few Whodat tell me they don\'t believe they will. Time will tell.

Whodat, I don\'t think I\'ve predicted anything yet...wake up my boy...you\'re dreaming up stuff again. I\'m smart enough to have sense enough to :

(a) realize our defense is in need of some work
...and...
(b)realize we haven\'t played our first game yet.
...and...
(c)realize that you\'d somehow manage to find fault in our team even if we won the freakin superbowl!
...and...
(d)realize that I never owned a Delhomme Jersey

That last one was for you \"08\". Can ou actually buy jerselys for the 3rd stringer? :P
