Observations of the Falcons-Bears game

- Matt Ryan is a very smart quarterback. He makes good reads and he doesn't force anything. I didn't think he would become that franchise type quarterback, a good quarterback just not franchise, but I was wrong. I'm very interested how Williams game plans for him when we play them.

- Roddy White, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez, Jerious Norwood, and even Jason Snelling give them plenty of weapons to match up with our defense.

- Their run defense is very stout. With that said, I really thought their pass rush was better than what they showed tonight.

- Their secondary is very poor. Their safeties are slow to make read and just look like stick figures back there waiting for the play to come to them. Like Chicago, we should be able to exploit them up the middle. Correct that... we should be able to exploit them up the middle, short, deep, to the left, to the right.. basically do whatever we please if Drew has time. Shockey should have a nice game against them.

Not on this game but now that Carolina got both Williams and Stewart going, even with Delhomme struggling, it'll still be a tough game I think. It's only a matter of time that Steve Smith gets it going too.

I can't wait for our divisional games. :)

Man, the divisional games are going to be tough. And please, do not look at Carolina's or Tampa's win/loss records, those are going to be blood battles. Not to mention Atlanta, which should be a given that they always give the Saints fits.

Good job Papz. There were questions about the Atlanta defense coming into the year but, their defense is playing well. Im pretty sure we can move the ball on them though. It'll be a matter us getting off of the field defensively. They have the potential to possess the ball a long time and this could conceivably take our offense out of its rhythm.

The other thing that stood out about Atlanta is, THEY STRIP THE BALL A LOT. Forte rarely fumbles and the Falcons stripped him 2 plays in a row, and had several other strips in the game although some of the others weren't ruled fumbles but, you can see them working. I HOPE THE SAINTS TAKE NOTE OF THIS when preparing for the Falcons.

Carolina - Yes, they have a good record against us in recent years. I would love to skull drag them twice this year. Truth is, they're gonna get healthier as the year goes on, and will probably continue to improve. I really hope we beat them twice this year though.

Atlanta's defense did not impress me. Chicago's offense lacks the play makers we have. We will defeat the Falclown by 20.

So let it be written....

LOL, yea well, I didn't mean for it to sound like the Falcons D was the second coming of the '85 Bears. Im just saying that they were predicted to be really really weak on defense this year, and that hasn't been the case. They're only giving up about 15 per game and like I said, they really make an effort to strip ball carriers.

Atlanta looks good. I'd say they're the 3rd best team in the NFC right now behind the Saints and Vikes.

Atlanta is not the kind of team that we need to take lightly. The Falcons do look like a very good team right now.

Doesn’t really matter we are division reversals with them
They will play that much harder simply based on that fact alone
