ok with fujita hurt...we are seeing a lot of play of your back up LB's and i have a question..is now a time to maybe look at bringing a Derrick Brooks for depth? because I haven't been very impressed with what we got...dunbar isn't horrible but mitchell give me a break....

and I think sharper has shown us that age doen't mean everything

Yer i'd be glad if we brought in brooks, one of the biggest things about him is that he still looks like hes got the same speed as he did back in 2002 wen tampa won the super bowl. We need some speed from the edges

I was begging for Brooks when they brought him in. I wish they would do it now before it is too late.

didnt we already turn him away once before......he obviously isnt worth the spot or we would've picked him up and cut one of the other backups

Well now that the season is 8 weeks old, his contract would be a lot more cheaper. They kicked the tires once, why not do it again. If anything you know that the guy would be fresh, just not sure how game ready he would be after sitting on a couch since the beginning of the season

I don't know. It didn't really seem like the Saints wanted any part of him after the workouts.

Shanel has helped but lacks speed and of course Vilma has more than held his own we but still need a explosive type of guy to round out the linebackers and give Vilma some strong run support help. I am not sure even when Scott F is healthy he fits this bill. I think Smith if available may be better but I would take either one right now.

Looks like an area that the front office will need to address in free agency or the draft. Arnoux is on IR so the team still doesn't know what they have in him, I'm confident that Micky will fix it somehow

There must have been a good reason not to bring him in. I would have to believe someone would have signed him by now if the guy had something to offer. Still, he is very experienced and should at least have a decent half a season in him, who knows...

I think if he fit with what Payton wanted he'd be in uniform. So far we are doing fine with Fujita out. Just need to watch our turnovers on Offense.

idk about you guys but casillas looked good until he got injured.. im not sure if he still is but yeah im fine with our LB's we just need to keep them healthy hopefully Fujita will be back..

I heard an interview with Brooks on Sirius a few weeks ago. Sounded like the reason he's not here is a $ issue. He's probably commanding more than Mickey is willing to pay at this point.

I think I remember hearing the same thing.
I wouldn't mind having him on the team, but he probably wants to be paid based on performance history, without enough consideration on his age.

At this point, with the number of injuries accumulating at a disturbing pace, we should revisit that $ issue. Penny Wise and Pound Foolish.

Marginal profits from reducing expenses - couple million.
Spending marginal profits on All Pro who helps win Super Bowl - priceless.

Pass - he's been doing a lot of studio analyst work, probably not in shape now. I'd rather pick up a UFA if we need to.

We offered him the minimum. We had to bring in a TE for Billy Miller so we went after David Thomas. Fuji was healthy at the time. I guess they figure we can do it with Dunbar until Scott comes back.

I dont' know i just think the guy has something left to offer....and if its a money issue wouldn't he make more playing here than sitting at home? would just like to see the depth so I never have to see mitchell getting playing time again!!

Derrick Brooks is doing the Red Zone on Sirius radio now on fridays. I think his playing days are done now. Hes busy working on his broadcast career now.
