Re: The ULTIMATE disrespect!!!

Ok Euph. I understand basic economics. But, yes, I do take it personally. If I needed to go out and buy a Detroit Lions garbage can, I know I have that covered here in Rosa. But if I want a Saints keychain, I have to order it online, because apparently, in a store, that supposedly is an NFL specialty shop, which last time I checked, the Saints are an NFL team by the way, doesn't feel the need to carry them.

Point being, if this was just a "regional" thing, then fine, I wouldn't be that worried about it. BUT, being that they have browns, texans, and bucs stuff, so obviously it's not regional. That's the point.

Re: The ULTIMATE disrespect!!!

Even NFL specialty shops are owned by someone. Its the owners call what he sales and based on the data he probably had he probably ordered stuff that he felt he could move for a profit. He he couldn't move for a profit you can't hold it against him for not stocking on his shelves.

My point if you have such an issue with it you needed to take it up with the manager or store owner. Let him know what you are interested in seeing in his store and that if he stocked 'said' items you would frequent his establishment and make purchases.

Take your anger and frustration to him and get personal with him. lol.

Re: The ULTIMATE disrespect!!!

Which you might have noticed that I posted that I did talk to him, and he didn't really understand what I was talking about. He didn't even know we were 10 and 0 right now, so there's the point. I did tell him if he stocked Saints stuff, me and my friends would come in there, but he wasn't interested. Which is even more of an insult, because even with the prospect of making some sales, he declined.

Being able to cater to every customer that walks in, instead of just a few, makes your business a success. Especially considering Bush had the number one jersey a few years ago. He didn't even know who he was!

Taking something personal for me, usually results in me knocking someone out. I talked, he didn't listen, thus, the dis, which is the reason for this post. I was wondering if anyone else had encountered this, so I asked. Sorry to inconvienence anyone.... sheesh!

BTW, how is this post getting personal anyway? It's not like I'm talking about Melrose Place here.

Re: The ULTIMATE disrespect!!!

Count yourself lucky. I live in England and when I mention NFL in sports shop...
Me: Hello, do you have any NFL gear?
Assistant: Pardon.
Me: American Fooball gear.
Assistant : Erm...Kevin, do we have any American stuff?
Me: Football stuff. Has to be football.
Kevin: Hello can I help.
A: Yeah, he wants football gear.
K: It's over there (points to premiership soccer shirts)
M: No, that's not what I want. I would like NFL stuff, American Football.
K: Oh that's downstairs. Follow me.
DOWNSTAIRS
K: There it is (looking at NBA shirts)
M: No, this is Basketball.
K: Oh. What is it you were after?
M: NFL. American Football. Gridiron.
K: Oh, we don't do that.

I walked away so frustrated and left Kevin laying there clutching his nuts. (Actually , I made that last bit up. His name was Steve)

Re: The ULTIMATE disrespect!!!

Here in Colorado, finding Saints merchandise is like finding gold. Sure, finding hats is not too uncommon (they tend to be VERY loud and ugly, though) but anything else...good luck. Most of the local collector shops know me and my preference for any and all Saints merchandise so whenever they get anything, they will let me know as soon as I step foot inside their shop.

What bothers me is the lack of t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. There are so many nice things out there from the NFL shop (I get the catalogs) and it is disappointing to never see any Saints gear.

In Broncoland, we get any and everything Broncos and ALL of the AFC west is represented, too. Then there are the "popular kids" like the Patriots, Cowgirls, etc. Seeing that the Who Dat Nation is EVERYWHERE, we really should be represented. Hopefully with the success that we are experiencing this year, it can lead to getting more merchandise in the future.

And another thing...when are we ever going to get the NFL Films treatment with some sort of DVD release? There could have been one based off of 2006 alone...
