YUP, YUP, YUP.

When the game was in SOME doubt -- was it ever? -- The predator removed all doubt.

Re: And your game ball goes to...

malcom jenkins played one hell of a game as well

but drew is undoubtedly the player of the game.....brady couldnt have kept up with drew whether our defense was playing lights out or not

my game ball definitly does not go to gregg williams.....how the **** do you only rush 3 people on 3rd and long against tom ****ing brady....wtf GW

Re: And your game ball goes to...

Gotta go with Mike McKenzie. Brees has been doing his thing every week, and was outstanding tonight. But Mike stepped in cold and looked like a champ. "Hey Mike, you just man-up on Moss, and we'll cover your back"...what a job he did on Randy Moss. Gameball to Mckenzie!

MM the man I wish he played this way a couple of year's a go, but I believe that's because we have good OF coach, but it is one game.

Re: And your game ball goes to...

Perfect passing rating gets my vote, 18 of 23, 371 and 5 TD's? Ridiculous. The O-line gave up one sack, but really took care of business tonight. And props to DH, I'd given him hell for years, but he's been solid all season, nice work DH, I'm glad you traded in the hands of stone for something more suited to a wr.

papz 11-30-2009 11:34 PM

Re: And your game ball goes to...

He traded in his hands of stone 2 years ago. I told my cousin to start Meacham instead of Henderson for fantasy... go figure it didn't matter who he started.

I was going to say the secondary in general. Patchwork bunch of rookies and guys on the street a few weeks ago, and shut down one of the top 3 QB's in the league.

Re: And your game ball goes to...

And I thought McAlister was the HUGE signing ... MM Welcome Home!!! You get a game ball for a tremendous performance.

If I had 2 to give though --- the second goes to our Offensive Line ... The game is won in the trenches and they did a great job protecting Drew all night. If it wasn't for Dave Thomas he wouldn't have been sacked ... O-Line ... Hats off to you tonight.

papz 11-30-2009 11:44 PM

Re: And your game ball goes to...

For as much as we are going to give the secondary credit... our front 7 did a hell of a job keeping Brady on his toes. GREAT all around game by our defense.

Re: And your game ball goes to...

Other than Drew, obviously...
Mike McKenzie sure made a lot of flashy plays, and it was great to see the Predator back in B&G, but Malcom Jenkins was on Wes Welker all night, Wes Welker being THE go-to guy for Brady, and Welker was not a factor.

... and Sharper was laying the wood!

... Nicks and Evans dominated the o-line.

Everybody played great, EXCEPT for old man Carney. He was pulling kicks left and right all night, including missing a cheap shot.

MM,GW,SP....the coaches gameplans were right on..as for the players..MM no question was the stud of the "d"....he gambles and will get burned sometimes but that plays right int GW's system

Re: And your game ball goes to...

Brees - But he did what he always does, just a bit better tonight.

McKenzie - With our top 3 CB's out, he came in and looked like he's been here all season. I'm shocked that he picked things up that fast.

Everyone else simply brought their A-games, but Drew and MM were special. They targeted MM, and he responded with an outstanding effort. Mike now affords us the opportunity to let Porter and Greer get completely healed up.

Also, the rookie Jenkins got a lot of playing time and did extremely well IMO. I seldom heard his name called, which is great for a CB.

Also, I loved what I saw from Harper, Dave Thomas (what a find), Nicks, Pierre Thomas, Courtney Roby and Thomas Morstead. All excelled tonight.

The only downer was Carney. He's lost it guys.

Re: And your game ball goes to...

Mike McKenzie pulled the Saints' ass out of the fire all night. He was picked on constantly and made only one bad play (the missed tackle) which wound up not meaning much overall.

I was disappointed when he was released because he's one of my favorite Saints. Welcome home. Get your ring.

My game ball goes to Sean Payton. He out coached the master!

We blew them out!!! LOL :pokechop::mrgreen:

Re: And your game ball goes to...

I have a feeling that Mike has been sneaking around and learning the defense, and obviously staying in great shape. He told a Saints fan "I'll be back", almost like he knew Payton would call him in a certain situation. We're just lucky that Mike didn't get picked up by another team.

Well, wut can i say... Awesome, just awesome, that's really the only way 2 explain it. As far as the "game ball", that's pretty hard 2 pick, lol, so i only see one way 2 resolve this decision.
( My game ball goes 2 the entire {$A!NT'z} team )
There's not enough ball'z 2 go around, everyone contributed last night. I just can't say enough about these boy'z me being proud is just a down right "UNDER STATEMENT", bottom line!!!
Us $A!NT'z fan's are extremely proud of yall.
( There's only (1) team that can beat us & that's the SA!NT'z )
11-0 Who Dat Nation, #1...
{I WANT THE VIKING'S. I PRAY WE MEET THEM IN CONF. C-SHIP, PLZ} !!!:pokechop:

I love Drew as much a his own family maybe, but the game ball has to go to MM

Re: And your game ball goes to...

MM played one hell of a game. So did Jenkins. So did Smith. So did Brees. So did Colston. So did Meachem. So did Henderson. So did the O line. The whole team played well, except for a few mistakes (just go down Ellis!) (stop trying to sabotage kicks, Carney!).

Oh, and Canton. I would normally agree with you, but they were mixing up rushes pretty good. When they rushed three a few times they made it look like they were going to bring heat and then dropped into coverage. I think this was to sit on underneath routes and try for ints. This play is one that comes to mind.

3rd and 5 at NE 44 (Shotgun) T.Brady pass short right to S.Aiken to NE 47 for 3 yards (M.McKenzie). Pass 3, Catch 0 Punt on 4th down.

Almost forgot.
Defensive game ball - Mike McKenzie
Offensive game ball - Drew Brees

Before even opening this thread and reading some replies, I thought "Predator!"

The dude came in off the street and played lights-out. Gotta love that!
So, on the D side, MM gets the ball.

On the O, I gotta go with Brees! He just about threw a perfect game... and 5 TD's??? That's just awesome.

im not talking about the 3rd and 5s.......im talking about the 3rd and 7s, 8s, 9s+

the best thing to do is zone blitz IMO against tom brady with a 3rd and long

when he gets time....he makes plays.....thats why brady is good.....but notice what happens when he gets pressured....he throws picks and has bad passes

when you blitz him and set up a zone for the crossing route and deep passes it takes away his quick reads and makes him hold the ball longer for the rush to get to him......even if he completes a pass, its still underneath and short for the first down

on 3rd and 5 i have no problem with rushing 3 because blitzing a LB would open up the middle of the field for the infamous brady to welker crossing route

i noticed we didnt play a 3-4......we played a 3-3 nickel package with 5 DBs and 3 downlinemen and LBs

Its hard to not choose Brees. 5td's, perfect rating. With that said, I have to go with Predator, dude was watching the game from a suite a week ago.

Yep. That 3-3-5 was for a few reasons I think.
1. Even though we are beat up in the secondary we had more speed and talent available there than the LBs.
2. It was easier to disguise coverage and confuse the Pats with the 5 DBs instead of an extra LB.

It was exciting to watch. I know you didn't like the three man rush, but for the most part it was effective combined with the plays with extra rushers. I'd love to buy Greg Williams a beer, and Payton for giving up some cash to make sure he got him.
