So Who Are The Starting CBs?

Double Mc CBs looked pretty darn good against the Pats. But what happens when Greer and Porter get back? Do they move Mc and Mc to nickle/dime duty or does at least McKenzie keep the starting job?

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

whats the stat the says greer has been thrown at the most out of any DB in the league but allows almost the least amount of yardage per catch or has the most passes defensed per pass thrown at him

im not sure what the stat is exactly but greer is definitly our starter on the outside

porter might have the best ball skills of all of our corners

id say let porter and greer continue to start.....let MM play nickel or dime and let jenkins play the other side

let chris mccallister go unless he is going to be our dime or quarter(do we have a quarter package?)

he played well but he didnt make the plays that mckenzie and jenkins did

gay might have lost his nickel duties.....its unfortunate for him because it was due to an injury but does anybody disagree that MM or jenkins have earned that position?

DEPTH!

What a great problem to have! :)

Greer and Porter... our future along with Jenkins. Gay, McAllister, and Mike provide us with tremendous depth.

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

BTW Where was Young last night?

Greer and Porter are 1-2, with MM and Jenkins GREAT options at nickel and dime. Plus, Williams is constantly rotating, so everyone is fresh at the end

McCalister was good, not great last night

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

Jenkins is playing lights out. Greer was playing at a Pro Bowl level when he got hurt. Porter was playing great when he got hurt with the most serious injury. Gay isn't playing well and can't stay healthy. McKenzie had a great game last night. McAlister was above average after a year away from football and in a new system. I'd say Greer and Jenkins with everyone healthy with Porter in the nickel and Mckenzie and McAlister getting reps in relief and different packages. I say that because I don't know if McKenzie and McAlister can hold up over a 6-9 game stretch. But, who knows when or if Porter is coming back. Loomis did a great job in picking up McKenzie and McAlister.

We have so much depth on this team. It truly is amazing. What a game by the predator last night. Heeeee's baaaaaaaack!!!!!!

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

I'd start McKenzie and Jenkins with McAlister at the nickel for now, when at full strength you still got to go with Greer and Porter but since we aren't sure when Porter comes back I wouldn't mind to see Greer and McKenzie start the 1st playoff game this year

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

We have great depth, but when we get our injured players back I'd still like to see Porter and Greer.

Okay, so the McDouble plays one good game and you guys are automatically proclaiming them the new starters?

Greer and Porter are our starters, when healthy. End of story.

These guys played their hearts out Monday night, but they are not our starting CB's. If Porter ends up being out for the season, I say go with Greer and Predator.

I hear what you are saying but the Single McKenzie has been doing just what he did for years now. I think he is a starter with his experience over Porter for now. Greer is a shutdown and so is McKenzie. Porter is a great corner but still learning as is Jenkins. Thus the vote for Greer on one side and McKenzie on the other. That's an amazing combo.

I don't care who starts as long as they are healthy and keep ball-hawking.

they're all phenomenal....i'm sold.

MM looked great and greer has been awesome as well. and to mention jenkins has been great too....everyone's playing awesome lol i have no idea what to do. when did we get such a superior secondary?!

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

My only gripe with Porter, is he seems to be injury prone. Two years in a row, that he's missing major playing time. I reallize the physicallity of the position, but I say we keep everyone, and rotate, until the end of the season. Better safe, than sorry.

yea i really doubt we're dropping anyone....OTHER THAN CARNEY. ugh...i do like the guy though, just not on our team, now.

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

I think we have so much depth at cornerback, all of which that are viable starters, that we can chose starters based on the wide receivers we are playing.

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

I personally say let go of Gay.... ever since watching him at atl last year it kinda ruins it for me :/

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

I think Greer and Porter when healthy, without a doubt. That
leaves McKenzie and Jenkins at nickel and dime. Not bad depth!

MCcalister is not up to speed yet, so I doubt he can challenge
any time soon.

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

It was just last week that we were saying our secondary was a weakness not a strength anymore. It's amazing how one week and two players later we're back to feeling great about the secondary.

Def Greer, then its between Predator and porter. I voted for Greer and Predator. Anyone who can come off the street and play like that amazes me!

Me too, but Mike gives up a lot of speed to Porter.

Re: So Who Are The Starting CBs?

Gotta be Greer and Porter. As much as I love McKenzie, I'm not sure he can be counted on long-term due to his extensive injury history.

It is amazing to think about how awesome this secondary is compared to the last few years. I mean, think about it. Randall Gay is our worst cornerback, and even on a bad day he's above average.

I voted before I read the thread. I thought that the question was which CB's will start this Sunday.

Porter and Greer no question.

I tell you what ... with Porter and Greer coming back ... we have got to have the deepest corps of CBs in the league!

Soon we will have CBs paying Loomis for the privelege of playing here!
