same exact situation as 06

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; well with one caveat, we haven't loss. Correct me if I am wrong- we had in 06 the chance to win the division by beating the Redskins or a loss by maybe Carolina? We loss, but so did the other ...

We loss, but so did the other team, and our players would not wear the hats for South Champs. Am I right on this or close at least? Anyway, do we get it right this time?

Re: same exact situation as 06

We were doubled up that day on rushing yards and lost the turnover battle.

Not gonna happen this time.

Plus, WE have Greg Williams this time...

I have a feeling that Williams will have something special for this game, GW will want to destroy Jason Campbell and the Redskins for passing on him for Jim Zorn. You got to be kidding me, Zorn over Williams

Re: same exact situation as 06

Im not saying we can't lose to the Redskins considering we're coming off an emotional victory, a short week, and the fact that the Redskins are playing better lately but, there's a big difference between this year and '06. '06 was a magical season fueled by the exitement of returning to New Orleans, a new QB and HC, and a marquee draft choice in Reggie Bush. However the '06 version of the Saints was a team that we had to piece together a starting lineup largely with rookies and lifetime backups and that team had little depth and far less talent. A team that probably had no business going to the NFC Championship game if not for the snowball effect of all the excitement surrounding it, but player for player, that team was at risk of being beaten on any given week vs any given team. I think this year's team prevails no matter what, barring we don't lose the turnover battle by a substantial margin.

You're point is well taken however, the circumstances are erily similar, Im just trying to point out the one big difference.

I see the double clinch- we win and ATL loses

We are going to win the division by at least 5 games

I believe u r absolutely right about that. There, for so long & for so many year's, no matter what, we for some reason would just give up or give the game away. Many would say it's becuz of this or that & would go as far as to say it was Voodoo, lol.

Well, ive only got one thing to say about that... (NOT THIS TIME)!!!

These $A!NT'z are NOT the team of old & it show'z... So many will doubt us, dispite all we have done, will do & continue to keep doing.
We all know one thing, {UNTIL WE HAVE A "S/B" RING}, it will NEVER change & we all know that. As far as all the statement's about the '09 $A!NT'z & the SAINT'S of old go, let it go & STOP look'n for the negatives... This team now, (HAND'z DOWN), is far better than any SAINT'S team of the past!!!
{Get used to it, this team is ~~> "BUILT 2 BLA$T" <~~ , now & for many year's to come}!!!

11-0 Let'z keep it go'n... GEAUX $A!NT'z BooM BooM BooM!!!

Picture a video game of the 2006 Saints with upgrades each year and this is year four. The game is refined and the weapons are better every year. It's like we're playing the ultimate video game and no one can stop us.
