I'd be proud to go to war on Sunday with the Saint's front seven on my side ! Look at the line.Even if Howard and Grant are banged up Willie Whitehead has done a formidable job backing up at end.He was Joe Johnsons backup two years ago.His motor never stops running.Kenny Smith can also play end,and he showed some signs in the preseason that he is ready to step up his play.Add in Melvin Williams on a few plays to utilize his straight line speed to the QB,and I think we'll be fine.There is no Guarantee,however that Grant or Howard will not play.Grady Jackson will surprise a lot of people who had him written off at the start of the pre season.Sullivan will add his two cents in also.He will have some growing pains but will improve with experience.Darrin Smith has already proven himself capable in the MLB spot.He made plays during the preseason,winning the starting spot outright.Don't forget,he was the starting MLB in 2000 when we went to the playoffs.Sedrick Hodge will show improvement from last year,and James allen will make his share of plays on the field.When Rodgers gets back we will see him do what he does best,blitz the QB.Ruff will be fine spelling Smith when needed.I just hope Rick Venturi will utilize all this talent the right way.As long as we have somebody hanging off of the QB and RB's ass in the backfield,or at least making them readjust in midplay we will be fine.Our secondary should be ok as long as Venturi dosen't try to scheme this defense around them.He should just let them benefit from the play of the front seven.
