Incident at Woodrow's Yesterday

Hey, Hou-Dats (our Houston family) I know some of yall are very
upset about what happened at Woodrow's yesterday, but I wouldnt
let it ruin a GREAT DAY FOR THE SAINTS, and our SECOND MIRACLE
OF '09. not to mention how cool it always is to hang out with 100 or
so other crazy Saints fans.

I say, lets keep cool for one day, before we discuss action. We're a
very large group from a bar's standpoint, and I think they know its in
their best interest to take care of us.

Switching the game to the Cowboys, believe it or not, was not all that traumatic to me, as I knew they would fix it promptly. But of course,
the ensuing action afterward will possibly cost the guy his job.

I have contacted management, and expect them to respond today.
If not, their loss, and a big one at that. They're not stupid. (except
for the guy involved)

Lets be cool today. PM me if you want the big guys' addy.

Its, well, lets just say its interesting, what happened. I'd rather not describe today, until the big guy has a chance to respond one way or another. I would hate to lose 100 really good customers, especially during a season like this. This might continue to be interesting this week.

I cant stand to look at myself. I feel like Im 13 again working out a math problem on the
chalkboard in front of the whole class.

btw, for my good friends who also post on Site-X, plz. be cool today on the "Houston Saints Fans" thread, until we hear back from management.
Again, PM me for the bosses address, and you can pass it along for other witnesses.

Re: Incident at Woodrow's Yesterday

Let me guess...

Saints chances look slim. Cowboys are set to kick off and an employee (probably a Dallas fan) switches the channel. Saints fans get angered and want the game back. Employee/Cowgirl fan shouts things at group along the lines of; "they suck anyway", "the game is OVER", "go get your brown bags"... Saints fans turn on him. Channel gets changed just in time to see Meachem catching a 53yd TD.

Am I warm?

It's happened to me before in Albuquerque.

Mike,
Good move calming the troops here on B&G.

Its even juicier than that, '76. And there were kids in the room.

Not to jump shark, but I think the (just one) guy (not the whole establishment) thinks of us as "evacuees," and all that garbage.

Well my best friend in there is technically an evacuee, but fits
zero of the stereotypes. Every person in that room, black, white,
spanish, (me) Asian, etc. -- all look like we work for a living. Loud,
yes, but everyone is polite, trouble-free, and loves each other.

hi everyone. I believe the situation is diffused.
Some things to do and errands to run today, then I'll see how everything is, and then we'll tell you some fun details of what is apparently just an unfortunate misunderstanding.

Again, everybody stay cool for now, if you will. Will get back later today. thanks.

Lynwood, Marc, or any sr member, if you are still a member of sr.com, could you please pass the message along on the "houston" thread? (sure hope its ok for me to request that here) And say hello from He-Who-Cannot-Be-Named.

peace, all.

Hi, I'm Skymike's friend the evacuee (you are gonna pay for that one) and the "older man" in a letter yet to be published (you are REALLY gonna pay for that one!!!!) I'm from "Site X" and have tried to calm things down through back channels...pretty good results except for Mark...I am efforting right now...I came here to the "Dark Side" to back Skymike up...it was really bad...and I am a pretty calm guy but I am ready to jump ship. This was only the straw that broke the camel's back. This has been building for a while now...stay tuned tomorrow, same SAINTS time, same SAINTS channel!!!

ps. I hope that maybe this could even unite the schism that exists between us in the WhoDat (online)Nation.

LOL! I had to take a poke at my "older" friend in that letter.... hahaha... thanks for your help Ed. I dont have to tell you how effective the power of the pen, but wow, that was some "effective communicating" you were doing there, and, of course, it was all true, and probably should have been addressed more strongly in the past.

We're gonna need about 4 large men to restrain marc now, if we can get some volunteers.

Also, it would be great if Kellye could jump in here & just say hi. Please tell her that She and Drew are NOT, repeat NOT bad gris gris, in fact we wouldnt have mounted the comback, except for residual vibrations, & reverberated incantations (I speak Dharma) of their visit.

For the curious & voyeuristic, please give me the rest of the day to post stuff about yesterday's amazing victory, please, and allow just a little more time for some things to get worked out. Then, I promise, we'll give the story, and how the peacemaking process was completed. If everyone is nice and patient, I'll even throw in the now famous condom story, a lost B&G classic, just in time for the holiday season.

yall be cool for now.

And yes, I would like to consider a few peace talks between warring factions of WhoDat nation. We can gather warlords from both camps in a neutral territory, perhaps.

Please, EVERYONE in the Houston area who can possibly can (except Drew and Kellye-LOL) PLEASE come to watch the game at Woodrow's this weekend. This will be our "statement game." The Hou-Dats really want to show the owners/management of Woodrows the impact our "bid-ness" (ala Mr. Benson) has on their bottom line. Let's pack the place...plus, the "mystery" of this thread will be settled.

The "Dark Side" and "Site-X" put away their differences and join together to show "WHO DAT" has the best fans in the NFL!

primadox 12-08-2009 05:54 AM

Re: Incident at Woodrow's Yesterday

We've banned ourselves now, LOL. We left Woodrow's with about 7 minutes left in the 4th. We were on 610 and got WWL for a brief moment, just in time to hear that the Redskins were inside our 10 yard line. Lost the signal, and started rationalizing all the way home that everything would be okay; Favre will poop out in a game or two and we'll still have our HFA. As we pulled onto our street in the Copperfield/Cypress area, the local sports said, "and the Saints and Redskins are tied and going to overtime"....I looked at Drew and said "I hope we left in time!!!!" We ran inside, turned the tv to NFL Redzone (aka "crack for NFL fans"), just in time to see the fantastic, unbelievable win.

So, the farther away we got from Woodrow's, the better the mojo got. I don't understand it, but I also don't mess with it. :D

And it sounds like we missed the excitement...????

Hey, all is good between the forums, IMO. Some will talk smack about the other place, but when it comes down to it we're all part of WhoDat Nation!!

(Mike, like my new avatar??? )

skymike 12-08-2009 05:58 AM

Re: Incident at Woodrow's Yesterday

Kellye, you are not bad gris-gris. I say, imagine if you hadnt came? Jason Campbell was channeling Joe Montana, and the Redskins were on fire Sunday. You and Drew gave us enough mojo to stay close enough to
have a big comeback.

If we're losing late in the 4th, we'll send you to the smoking area.

SuperDome is right, yall. Its time for a show of strength & unity.
Besides none of the people I want to beat up from Site-X live here.

Hey, if anyone is on Facebook, join our fan club for this Old Saints Fan they showed on tv Sunday. We now call him "Mr. Mojo", and as someone said, if Bobby Hebert is the Father of WhoDat Nation, then this guy is the Crazy Uncle of WhoDat Nation!! He's got a real following now...we love this guy! He represents long suffering Saints fans everywhere...we were down by a TD late in the game, and he was still smiling; so happy to be there. God bless him; he's our hero.

Where did you get that? I want one.

"Mr. Mojo" awww... bless his heart. His face says it all. He Believes.
Did I Believe? No, I said, "This was our suckage game, oh well 11-1..."
Did you Believe? no, you left. ha!
Did anyone Believe? Only the most severely faithful Believed. The rest of us had to see the water-turn-into-wine missed FG.

Mr. Mojo Believed. (amazing how I've mixed voodoo & Christian metaphors)

I want to hug the guy. bless his heart & I mean that in a good way.

... which drives me nuts. You know I blew away English Comp in college, not to mention I won some dumb award in high school for my proficiency. Of course, you sort of need writing skills to be a news director, which I did for a while, but I find myself correcting my posts because I know YOU might be reading.
