This won't be the last one ...

We'll lose in Carolina, but regardless of what happened last night ... I've always thought this.

14-2 is a GREAT season, but a last game of the regular season loss may be our demise.

Like most of you ... I'm hurting this morning. I mean ANYONE, ANYONE but the cowgirls ...

Heck the way we played last night we'll lose to Tampa as well. How does 13-3 sit with you? :argue:

Re: This won't be the last one ...

I don't really care that it was the Cowboys. They played better than the Saints and they deserved the win.

This Saints team has questions to answer. And they still control their own destiny.

Last night was the perfect storm. The Saints injuries caught up and met a team that was backed into a corner and came out FIGHTING.

I know this team will recover and will get healthy again.

No one will stop us in the Dome when we're 100%

I can't sleep. I'm just lying here staring at the ceiling, and then checking my blackberry.
I guess I have been spoiled, because I forgot for a while, what losing felt like. Now I
remember all to well. One game shouldn't mean this much, but to be honest, as a long
time saints fanatic, I think there will always be a part of me that always sees things
like this as "half empty". Waiting for the other shoe to fall. Preaching the apocolypse
after one loss. Now I'm sitting here expecting the worse outta this, and it sucks!

I'm sorry guys. I wish I could break this thought pattern, but I have had my superbowl
heart broken so many times. I think I need therapy. :)

Yes Sir.

We can concentrate on a Defense slanted draft after we win the Superbowl! There is way too much drop off when Big Sed is out!

Re: This won't be the last one ...

SaintPaul .. I'm COMPLETELY with you .. I'll get flamed for saying it, but our current Defense --- NO WAY we win a championship with them playing like that. I get that Ellis and Greer are still out, but with Ellis in the past few weeks we've been run on like a powder puff team.

We're a GREAT team no question, but as the playoff's near ... Our injuries have piled up and WOW --- we just looked tired last night. Our offensive line was horrible.

By the way, if Henderson catches that WIDE ASS OPEN TD in the 3rd ... That game looks different I'm pretty sure because we get rolling sooner than just the 4th quarter ... Is it just me or does Henderson look like he doesn't care as much since Meachem became (READ EARNED) the guy?!?!?!?

Here's hoping to me being wrong ...

Dude, we gave the game away. To a team fighting for their own lives. Not to make excuses, but injuries played a factor in the defense and the offense was just plain FLAT.

I don't know if a loss is ever a "good" thing, but it will definitely fire the team up for the playoffs. Besides, if we face the 'girls again, we'll be healthy and they will cry.

Yeah ...that's if the Girls make the Playoffs. They still have two more games to choke!

Anyone remember Kendrick Clancy? you know our OTHER starting DT  Yeah, that's right, we're playing without TWO starting DT's, a rookie CB, A CB who was out of football, backup LB's and it's been going on for a few weeks now.....

Look, we were lucky to make it to 13-0.

Bottom line is that this team needs to get healthy. We still control our own destiny and you know that Brees will bounce back.

Wow, a seven point loss to an inspired, desperate team is all it seems to take to make everyone forget that we are 13-1.

Lighten up everybody- We are still a great team and control our own destiny.

Exactly!! I mean the Cowgirls HAD to have that game and they played great and we didn't, no matter how you look at it they wanted it more and played like it! this could be a blessing in disguise this removed the pressure of being undefeated, we didn't need that pressure I would rather go 9-7 and win it all than go 16-0 and be one and done in the playoffs. As much as I wanted the win last night I am not that upset about it! This loss should refocus the team! On a lighter note it was great to see porter back now if we can just get greer because Jenkins got abused last night!

Re: This won't be the last one ...

The Saint's got beat last night by a healthy team that needed to win, we only loss by 7 points with a very hurt football team.
IMO Shockey was missed last night not for his pass catching ability but his blocking, I believe that if he's there DB has a little more time in the pocket.

The defense is missing SE, JG, and it was TP first game back from injury and did well but needs more work to get back to where he was. Jenkins is looking like just what he is a rookie, IMO probably would be better at safety rather than corner.

I mentioned the starters that are hurt but there backups as well are banged up and not playing, we're picking up players from the sofa and expecting them to play and play well. Last night the injuries caught up with the Saint's and there was no hiding it.

IMO SP has been holding players out because he knows ne needs a healthy football team more than a perfect regular season, the playoffs is all that counts now.

That's the way I see it too man. I don't care about going undefeated. All I care about is getting healthy. And if we're healthy going into the playoffs we're going to kick a## and take names.

WHO DAT!!!!!!

Re: This won't be the last one ...

I apologize gentlemen, I don't like to lose. Any game, any where, any time. I have been
this way since I started watching football. And by the way, this isn't golf, there are no mulligans
here that I know about. Momentum, at this time of year is essential, going into the play offs,
and this loss will either wake people up, or we have been exposed.

And I also want to point out that the hype around this team was getting out of freakin control!
Maybe now it will die down, and we can get back to playing 4 quarters instead of just two.

Just need a tiny 5 game winning streak now. Don't seem so big after ripping off 13.

Hold on! Wait a minute!! One part of being a fan is having hope. As bad of a record as the Redskins, Bucs, And Rams had their fans were confident that they could beat us. And they kept the faith until the game was over(except Bucs). Why are we downplaying our boys already. This is where I separate real saints fans from "Bandwagoners". I'm not questioning anybodies faith as a fan but lets be positive. It's one lost. We still have a first round bye and can still get homefield.

The Saints lost one game. They have two game left against bad teams if you think there going to lose to them you're nuts.

I WISH i could think like that, but I think our lack of pass rush and lack of ability to stop the run just showed EVERY team we will have to face how to beat us. Washington beat us,,I dont care if we won because they screwed up...we lost that game and they showed the league our problems. It just hurts because its the cowboys. I couldnt even watch the half time report because i was so angry. We got outplayed, out coached, and couldnt match their energy..PERIOD. and we will be one and done in the playoffs. NO WAY we stop All day from running ALL over us, or the cards from TORCHING our secondary, while their running game kills us. God forbid the cowgirls have to come back and woop us again!!
Im not saying its over, but we havent played well in several weeks, ANY team can run on us, if you need a first down just find Jenkins, its the wrong time of the year to play like we are. ...I have to step away, im getting pissed typing this.

Yeah, just like we lost to them the first time we played them this season. And, of course, they will have all the motivation since they will be playing for a coach about to be fired after a miserable season and we will just be playing for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. Yep. We can chalk that one up as a loss and get ready for next year.

I'm back at work in Dallas today with my Saints jersey on and loving life. I have to say that Dallas played a helluva game but it didn't impact me near as hard as I had anticipated. Now we can be done with this whole undefeated mess, focus on health and just play some damn ball.
