We need you now, Billy, more than ever. Please give us something to be excited about.

Not trying to be a smarta$$. Someone please tell me why today\'s performance is okay. I really am confused about the offensive performance (or lack there of). I expected the defense to be very mediocre, but now it seems that we\'ve digressed on the other side of the ball.

I know that JH will have lots of excuses for us this week (I\'m not asking for his head -- yet), but I want to know where all of you guys are who were telling us we shouldn\'t be so critical of the off-season.

I\'m not happy to be right about the defense. I wanted to be wrong.

I am upset about the offense, because I did not expect for us to be held to ten by the Hawks.

15-1 ain\'t so bad....

where are the optimistic?

I don\'t have any optimisim for you but I do have a couple of thoughts for you.

People want to talk about being a realist. First let\'s ask ourself what a realist is. A realist is a person that assess a situation and forms a realistic opinion based off of facts. Now, let\'s relate that to the 2003 New Orleans Saints. Here\'s the facts to base a realistic opinion:

1. There are 16 games in a season.
2. We\'ve lost one game.
3. The main reason we lost the game was because of turnovers.
4. The defense didn\'t play bad at all.
5. The offense had an off game.

If this next statement doesn\'t apply to you, then pay no attetion to it. All of you \"so called knowlegeable fans\" that are ready to write the Saints off as dead, really need to take a look at look at yourself and really question how much football knowlege you have. I have no problem with criticism of the Saints. I have no problem with calling certain players out when they have a bad game. I do, however, have a problem with those of you that pretend to know the outcome of this season.

The truth of the matter is, none of us really know how the Saints are going to do this year. Maybe you are much smarter than me and you know the outcome already. Or, maybe you take great enjoyment in being a negitive person and bashing the Saints every chance you get.

Any fan that is suggesting that the season is over because we lost one game -- I have absolutely no respect for you as a Saints fan nor do I have any respect of your football knowlege.

I hope the Saints win there next 15 games and you jump back on the bandwagon. You guys do understand what a bandwagon fan is? It\'s a fan that runs around telling everyone the sky is falling when they lose and when the win a couple they jump on board for the good times. Don\'t get me wrong. It\'s nothing wrong with saying the Saints had a bad game. It\'s just wrong to write them off.

I don\'t believe we can\'t win the next fifteen. I want it to happen, and I\'ll be screaming for it every week we take the field.

The job of the fan is simple, and it has very little to do with the \'knowledgable\' aspect.

If the team puts a good product on the field, we support them; if they do not, we put a fire under their rear until they do.

I don\'t know the outcome of the season. I know what I want it to be, and I\'m not gonna ignore problems so that I can seem like the perfect fan.

Sorry.

Go Saints. Go Brooks. Go Duece. Go Anyone on Defense.

whowatches -- I\'m not trying to single any one person out here. Just look around on this board -- some of this stuff is absolutely rediculos -- The offense turns the ball over 4 or 5 times and the defense holds Hasselbeck to 150yds passing. The defense was put in bad situations all day long. Forget it -- everyone entitled to their own opinions.

Gator -- All I\'m saying is we lost period. It\'s one game. Miami lost against Huston for god\'s sake. Get over it man. It\'s one game. You know as well as I do that you can\'t write this team off just because they lost one game.

Guys, we started the season out sloppy! Main reason we lost is turnovers, add that to the 10 penalties for over 100 yards. I thought we started out good with the first drive but after we started with the mistakes it was all downhill.

Here\'s your optimism!

They will bounce back!

By the way, Man it was nice to see the Rams look that bad today!

Billy, how the heck can you sit there tonight and question our football knowledge when it was a few of us who pretty much called the outcome of this game and the play of the saints? Man you got some nerve!

just because you sit back and call for a win every game does not make you one bit more a fan than any other saints fan.

Saints offense is healthy, what is the excuse now for their sorry play? The excuse was injuries, then it was they are waiting for the real games to open it up. Your right it was one game. guess what? I have a bad feeling it may happen to them again next week.

where are the optimistic?

ok.. i guess its time for me to speak my part... its not often i agree wit Billy but right now i do... it is just 1 game... sure we played horrible and the seahawks played better then expected... but i did see some flashes of a solid D... for example the first 3 drives the seahawks had were 3 and out... at the end of the first quarter they had 15 total offensive yards... charles grant, in my opinion played very well.. with 1 sack that i know of and i believe he had another but im not sure on that... what really hurt our D was when darren howard came out the game.. after that walter jones just man handled that side of the line.. notice they kept running right behind him... on the subject of jon sullivan.. he is a rookie... i dont think he will be a superstar this year.. for example.. henderson of the titans was expected to be a superstar last year... but played just marginal.. but watching him play the raiders tonight.. he played exceptionally well... and i can only hope sullivan can play that well this year and next...on offense i think joe horn and deuce played very well but werent used enough... especially joe.. he made some killer plays... dante played ok.. but dropped some balls... pathon got crushed over the middle as ususal but he made the catch... m. louis.. i dunno.. he played scared i think.. he had one return where he coulda ran for at least 15 yards but he called a fair catch.. i dunno what was wrong with him... the line played ok... could be much better... brooks.. hmm what to say about brooks... at times he made good decisions and then he would come right back and make a bad decision... so all in all he played about as well as was expected of him to play....INCONSISTANT... and the penalties were horrible.. the saints had over 10 penalties.. the seahawks had only 3 all game...

billy is right.. miami lost.. and u dont hear them crying about how their season is over...
Green bay lost... u dont hear favre crying about how their season is over...
the rams lost... u dont hear faulk crying about how he only had 28 yards rushing...
the raiders lost.. u wont hear them crying about how they can no longer move the ball down the field and how they suck and wont make the playoffs...

the point is.. on any given sunday... any team can win and any team can lose.. it was just our week to lose...it was just a lil worse then expected
