Email from Tom Benson, free Saints coin to Season ticket holders.

Never have we valued our season ticket holders more than this season, when the Superdome again gave our club the greatest home field advantage in the NFL. In my 25 seasons as owner, I have never been prouder of our team than during 2009 - or of the crowds that packed our stadium. The support and excitement has been tremendous, and the Saints have united our community.

As a native New Orleanian and during my tenure as owner, I've always understood the special bond between the fans and our organization. We've worked hard to make the Saints a leader in the community, both on the field and off. When I purchased the club, it was because news reports warned the Saints were going to be moved out of town. The quarter-century since has been among the most rewarding years of my life.

To commemorate the last 25 seasons, the New Orleans Saints have produced a distinctive coin. You may have read I will be serving as the Grand Marshal of the Krewe of Endymion during Mardi Gras -like the Saints, the holiday is a uniquely New Orleans tradition - and there will be an extremely limited number of these coins distributed during the parade.

Because so few will be available on the parade route, the commemorative coin will be available to season-ticket holders. For each two season tickets that a holder has, they will be given one coin, up to a maximum of 20 per account. The commemorative coins must be picked up at the New Orleans Saints ticket office located at 5800 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA by Friday, January 29, 2010.

Please accept the coin as a personal thank you to each season-ticket holder, and also as a thank you on behalf of the entire organization. Our performance on the field is a reflection of the hard work of our coaches, staff and players, and of your support. This commemorative coin is recognition of what we've accomplished in the past, and the anticipation of greater success in the future.

Question, I'm not a season ticket holder so I don't know. But what are these coin worth ???

Think they are worth whatever the highest bidder will pay. At the moment, my guess is someone, somewhere will pay huge wonger provided the quality and design is very good, regardless of the actual value of the metal.
And if New Orleans win the BIG ONE. Start counting them zeroes ,000.00

Thanks! For some reason I didn't get the e-mail. (It might have been a victim of our stupid spam filter here at work.) Thanks to seeing this post, I went by and got my coins and they're very pretty. Fleur-di-lis, SuperDome and Benson Towers on the front and a picture of Tom on the back. Now if someone can tell me where I can get one of those "Bring the wood" baseball bats!!!!
