Has Reggie earned his spot?

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Alot of speculation has been made, by myself as well, that Bush will not be resigned in the off season. I'm starting to wonder if that idea might need to be RE thought out. His season play wasn't great, but ...

Has Reggie earned his spot?

Alot of speculation has been made, by myself as well, that Bush will not be resigned in the off season. I'm starting to wonder if that idea might need to be RE thought out. His season play wasn't great, but he has admitted that he was hurt for alot of the season. His post season play has been outstanding so far. I'm thinking I would rather keep him here now. Is it possible though?

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

IF Reggie continues to play like he has of late, I would agree to re-think it for sure, But at what price would he be worth it? I don't know if his current salary is reasonable for what he has actually done... Just a thought

I've been very impressed with him lately, and I would love it if they kept him on the team.

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

He counts a LOOOOOT of money towards the cap & we could use the money in other places.

That said if he shines this weekend like last - it will be hard NOT to keep him

BUT - It might be hard to keep him in the same vein!!

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

i think he's earned it. he's played GREAT this year. sure he fumbles sometimes, but, i'm pretty sure adrian peterson fumbles a lot more. is there anyone who thinks peterson shouldn't be given a roster spot? bush was EPIC in the game on saturday. i was at the game and people were literally jumping up and down when he had the ball on the long td run and the punt return well before he got into the endzone.

i think this shows two things: 1) bush is eletric and we need that kind of a spark and 2) the fans REALLY love the guy and are REALLY pulling for him!

every single year he runs w/ more and more purpose. think about how awful he was between the tackles before? i used to HATE watching him dance around behind the o-line when he was a rookie. when was the last time we've seen him do that!?

reg-gie, reg-gie, reg-gie!

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

I have to agree. I gave him alot of flack, and I'm not saying it was undeserved, but he has came back into my good graces with his play of late. If he keeps it up on Sunday, then I say sign him up. If possible.

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

First of all let me say this about Reggie. I respect the way he does his job and doesn't bring attention to himself off the field. He's not a media attention whore or some arrogant mouthy doofus like Ocho Cinco. He keeps a low profile and gives everything he's got every time he touches the ball.
I think Reggie knows he comes with a high price tag next season and I'm sure he knows some negotiations will be in order for him to stay in New Orleans.
But, If the 2010 season is "uncapped" then that may change alot of things especially in the free agency market.

I think he still has some years on his contract. I think people are talking about trading, cutting him, or keeping him. I hope they keep him.

Re: Has Reggie earned his spot?

I really cant tell yet if he all of a sudden changes his style of running to north and south like he did against weak defensive unit of arizona and actually Tears it up against the vikings then i say keep him no matter how much he wants cuz if he tears up that vikes D then he deserves it...
