The Saints have a very good running game. The Cards don't.

The Cards offense is more similar to ours except Manning is much better than Warner at getting us into the right protection and a good play at the line of scrimmage.

Dude, we BEAT the JETS and the PATRIOTS and the VIKINGS.

In fact the Saints ran the table on the EAST COAST teams...
Eagles, yea they are a real slow defense.

Try not to sound too silly. The truth is the VIKINGS defense is WAY better than the Dolts D. Everyone seems to agree on that but you.

I really hope the Saints think the same way you do. The Colts D is so much better then many want to give it credit. This so called average D just dominated two of the best rushing teams in the NFL and minus the final two games of the season, finished 3rd overall in least amount of points given up. The colts are where they are BECAUSE of both the D and Peyton.

Let's face it, the Colts do not have the best D in football nor the best running game. You are heavily reliant on Peyton Manning to win. It is because of him and not your defense that the Colts are a great team.

Better, maybe, but it sure hasn't been seen lately. Exactyl how much better is very slight and not the strength of the Saints.

We gee Dude we beat the Jets and Pats also. What exactly is your point? What happen when you played TB? I mean really, TB at home and you lost? You played all your main players and you lost? Really how did you do that? Plus you got lucky and just squeaked by the Redskins.

My guess is that we'll dare the Saints to run on us and make them drive the field slowly. If you're a good running team, it's not hard to get 5-10 yard runs against us but it's hard to drive the entire field that way because one negative play or one penalty and you're in a passing situation. The Saints, unlike the Ravens or Jets, will be more than comfortable in those passing situations. We will need Freeney and Mathis to hurry, or sack, Brees and not let him get comfortable and in a rhythm.

This is a totally different beast. We're not trying to shut down a one-dimensional offense anymore and we're not at home.
Yup. I think you have it nailed there. The Saints have a top five ranked running game and really depend upon the run to set up the pass. But, as you pointed out, the Saints have far better weapons in the pass game than does the Jets so you can't simply stack the box. It is going to be an interesting match up and will be a toss up as far as I am concerned.

Actually, we had several key players out against the Bucs. The Saints went up quick to a 17 point lead, went into cruise mode and lost focus. No excuse though, but this Saints team is not the same one mentally that took the field in the second half of that game.

ask jahri evans and the rest of the o-line about that one......they handled the "williams wall" prety darn effectively

Brees is very much a rhythm passer. When he is on, he is on fire. When he is not, he overthrows like he did last night. The Colts will need to throw the Saints off their timing routes and bring enough heat from the outside to force Drew up into the pocket.

Covering Wayne, Garcon, Collie, and Clark won't be easy. Manning is going to short pass them down the field waiting for the right opportunity to strike. It is all going to come down to time of possession and if Manning can keep our defense on the field.

Our o-line is unbelievable. Brees ought to take them on several nice trips in the offseason.
