Greetings from a neighbor up the MS river!

Hey from Memphis, TN, y'all!

As you can tell from my name, I am a die-hard fan of that "other" Black & Gold team. ;)

But I just wanted to let you guys know that there are many members of Steeler Nation who are very happy for your team and for the city of New Orleans and will be cheering for you in the Super Bowl.

Look forward to getting to know you!

Peace,
steelerdiva1

Oh, man. The Steelers suck. How could you possibly pull for those douchebags?

Do you realize many players in the league chastize them for dirty hits?

Aim higher dude. Pull for your home state team or something. At least they have principles.

Well...sorry you feel that way.

And I'm sorry you can't take my good wishes in the spirit in which they were intended.

I hope your fellow fans aren't as rude as you. Have a nice day.

LOL...Actually I think you will. My brother is a musician at a church and he said there are a LOT of Saints fans there (many of them re-located from NOLA after Katrina). So at the very least you got lots of folks here in M-town in your corner. ;)

We appreciate the well wishes! I have pulled for the Steelers to do well (but not at the Saints expense) ever since Bill Cowher took over the team. I went to school (NC State) with Bill and his wife Kaye, although I knew Kaye much better than Bill.

LOL...yeah...OK, Man. :peace:

Actually....ours is more of a Maize/Aztec Gold, while the Saints are more of an Vintage/Antique type of Gold.
;)

LOL...are we splitting hairs now???

Re: Greetings from a neighbor up the MS river!

No....Its yellow. We have the same problem identifying yellow with LSU fans so we have some experience with the whole yellow is actually gold thing.

Maize is corn. Corn is Yellow. And the Aztecs certainly knew the difference between Corn and Gold.

Not that you aren't welcome here. Just don't call yellow gold and we will get along fine.

Yup. We aren't ragging on you. LSU gets the same treatment. Their "gold" is also more yellow than classic gold of the Saints.

Just picking. No problem.

Back to the game ...

As long as you can chat "Who Dat?" and stand up and get crunk you will be happily welcomed as a honorary Saints fan for as long as you wish!

Thanks for the well wishes, diva. I am a traitor to the Steeler fan base. I was a Steelers fan when I was just a wee lad, because I loved Terry Bradshaw (no homo). I became a Saints fan in 86 when Jim Mora took over the team and I finally realized "Aw, hell! Louisiana has a football team!" lol. I still root for the Steelers occasionally....especially the last two Super Bowls they played in. I guess I still have a VERY SMALL soft spot for them after all these years. :p

Yes...Louisiana gave us a gift in #12, for which we'll always be grateful! ;)

Re: Greetings from a neighbor up the MS river!

Welcome Diva and Thanks for the wishes. As true Saints fans we should all relate to the Steelers because of the similar path. Steelers struggled in the beginning and took 40+ years to win a championship and we are going to our first after 43 years. We are both blue collar teams so Thanks for your support and Good Luck in 2010.
