We're the "road" team.

So, my question is, how do we determine who's the home and away teams?

I mean, how does that get decided? Is it power rankings?? Can somebody inform me please! :D

Thats a very good question. I'm going to try and find out. It might down to best record or strength of schedule.

Colts are "home" team in Super Bowl

The Super Bowl is played on a neutral field, but there's always one team designated as "home" and one team designated as "visitors." This year, the Colts are the home team.

So the Colts will wear their home blue uniforms, and the Saints will wear their road uniforms. The Saints will also get to call heads or tails on the coin toss. Other than that, it doesn't make much difference which team is considered home and which is away.

Or does it? The Colts are also staying at the same hotel where they stayed the last time the Super Bowl was in South Florida, when they beat the Chicago Bears. With 25 players who have Super Bowl experience, maybe the home jerseys will add to an overall feel of comfort in Miami.

On the other hand, Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star notes that the Colts are 2-0 in the Super Bowl while wearing their white jerseys, having won Super Bowls XLI and V as the designated road team, but 0-1 in the blue jerseys, having lost Super Bowl III as the home team. Maybe the Colts would feel more comfortable in road white.

Or maybe it doesn't really matter, and we're stretching to cover every angle during the two weeks of non-stop hype before the Super Bowl.

If that is the case I think we have a three letter word for it...

It rotates each year between each conference. This year AFC is the home team, next year NFC will be home and so on

Why not let the probowl decide it? Then at least these guys would have something to play for, instead of just showing up, to get their picture took.

Only flaw with that idea is the Pro bowl is played AFTER the SB except for this year... which blows for the players from this years SB teams since they won't get to play after having worked hard and earned the right to be there.

I'd be all for moving the pro bowl to say, Thanksgiving weekend, give every team that week off (eliminate the bye week), and have the game happen during the seaon. Then you could have the winner decide the "home" team in the SB. This gives playoff-seeking teams a break before the final 5-6 game push to the post-season. Injuries wouldn't be an issue. Baseball and basketball do it this way, and those players have just as much chance of getting hurt (or not) as they might in any other game.
