There\'s a such thing as being realistic and being foolish...

Let me ask you this... is it POSSIBLE for the Saints to go 1-15?
There is such a thing as being realistic and being foolish... But yeah it\'s possible.. I think anyone would be foolish to say that though.

Let's hear it for Brooks and the Defense.

Last year, when the Saints were 6-1, had beaten the 49ers, Packers, Steelers, Bucs, Bears, and Skins and were being considered the best team in football by a lot of experts, would it have been foolish to say that they wouldn\'t make the playoffs?

What I think you\'re talking about here is probability. The probability of them going 1-15 is low. Yes, you are correct. However, if you look at the last two season, the Saints\' AVERAGE record is 8-8 with a standard deviation around 2. Meaning, the probabilityof them going 10-6 are NO BETTER than the probabilityof them going 6-10.

Now, I will be the first to admit that in the NFL, past performance is not an accurate predictor of the future. HOWEVER, it is probably MORE acurrate over time than ANY other method. Thus Billy, believing the Saints will be 6-10 is again, no more foolish than believing that they will be 10-6.

Now, I can provide reasons to believe the \"facts\" show either. I can show statistical probability that the Saints will be 6-10 or 10-6. I don\'t know what more I could possibly do to explain this.

By your comments, is it safe to assume that you believe that it is foolish to think that the Saints will NOT make the playoffs?

BillyC

I said the front office was not committed to winning the Superbowl and I believe that. There is a difference between being committed to being competitive and being committed to being champions. I also think they have an excellent chance to make the playoffs.

I don\'t think Brooks is one of the top five QBs in the league but I like him and think he\'s good enough to do the job.

Just because some one criticizes the team doesn\'t mean they aren\'t loyal fans or are predicting doom and destruction.

Don\'t get so bent out of shape dude. We\'re all just trying to have here.
