P. Manning not concerned about Gregg Williams Plot.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — When Indianapolis quarterback Peyton Manning met reporters covering Super Bowl XLIV for the first time, he blew off comments made last week by New Orleans defensive coordinator Gregg Williams about knocking him out of Sunday’s game.
Williams told Nashville radio station 104.5 The Zone that he wanted his players to put “remember me” hits on Manning in an attempt to knock him out of the game.
“I don’t have one,” Manning said Monday when asked about his reaction to Williams’ comments. “I didn’t hear it. “I guess I’ve been playing long enough that I don’t have any reaction to a comment like that.” In their playoff victories over Arizona and Minnesota, the Saints battered quarterbacks Kurt Warner and Brett Favre. Williams wants his players to do the same thing to Manning, who was sacked only 10 timKeees this season and has missed only one play (broken jaw) in 12 NFL seasons. “That has been our philosophy all year long,” Saints safety Darren Sharper said Monday. “It just so happens that Gregg spilled the beans. “Our attitude is always ..... Re: P. Manning not concerned about Gregg Williams Plot.

He isn't concerned yet. Once his pants are on the ground that level of concern will change. Manning is going down.

On whether the team was fired up due to defensive coordinator Gregg Williams' comments: "That has been our philosophy all year long. It just so happens that Gregg (Williams) spilled the beans. Our attitude is always to let teams, at the end of the day, remember that they played against us. That's our plan to play a tough, physical brand of football. Those 'remember shots' go a long way."

In Gregg Williams' style of defense, I'm allowed to be a playmaker, trust my instincts and attack the football. It's two different worlds from where I was last year and this year. That's probably why the numbers (of interceptions) are so different."
On whether he spoke to the Vikings coaching staff about what he does well: "Always. They just did what they had been doing."

On how difficult it is to put more pressure on QB Peyton Manning with the presence of TE Dallas Clark: "The thing about 'remember me shots' - I don't know if you think it means the quarterback or whoever is not going to get back up, he can still get back up, but it's 'remember me' because he is going to remember he just got his bell rung. You can always get those types of shots on whoever is playing the game once they step between the white lines. The quarterback can always get hit. It's just how they get hit.
I can't wait to see that whiner Manning with his pants on the ground!

Why motivate their lineman to protect Peyton better...or why give them BB material at all? I like the attitude but not the ignorance.

The dOlt line doesn't stand a chance.

They can't stop destiny. I applaud their efforts but no way they can stop this tidal wave of who dat.

They'll be lucky to keep Manning from having pants on the grounditis.

Play making is what's going to make the difference for us. Rattling Manning is just one more play made. Forcing quick or hurried throws, good tackling at the point of the catch, slowing the running game, tipped passes, good anticipation, ... we will need every bit of defensive savvy we can muster and have it come together on Sunday evening. DB's - please, please, please keep your hands off of those guys, PLEASE, unless he's blowing past you.

Many have tried, none have successed. And no the Saints won't be the first. We have played the best D's in the league (something the Saints are not) and not a one was able to get to and rattle the King.

Jets said the same thing, so did Baltimore and the Broncos and on and on and on. You D couldn't rattle Tony Romo or the rookie QB for the Bucs, so what makes you think you have a shot against the best QB in the league?

ooo... throwin down tha glove.... nice post Indy-dude. Peyton Manning is indeed "The King." Just like his Daddy.

pretty scary point about yall not getting rattled by Ray Lewis or the Broncos. You're right, pretty much. But I think Brett Favre disagrees.

anyway, welcome.

All Gregg Williams was saying is what every defensive coordinator is really trying to do, but is afraid to say, "We plan to knock him the **** out."

Planning on it and doing it are two huge differences...

I distinctly remember being in the dome once watching the Saints beat the Colts. It has been done, folks, and will be done again! And lo and behold, King Manning was the QB then, too! BTW, I'd watch it when "exalting" my players. Sometimes it ^ upsets the big guy!
